Sequels The next Wolverine film?

According to official timeline of films given to empire magaine the events of the wolverine are apparently being retcon to all take place In 2013.

I just think they will want to do next film after DOFP especilly if wolverine Is In Apocalypse which could happen.

Some people have this notion DOFP Is final apearance of wolverine and the only way to do another wolverine film Is between end of main events of The Wolverine and Mid credit scene. They are kidding themselves.

They wouldn't have explicitly given an precise time-frame between the main plot and the post-credit scene if they didn't plan to follow up on that. I can't think of another movie that's done that. Plus, there's the matter of why Yukio was apparently no longer with Wolverine (she just declared herself his bodyguard not two minutes earlier and they seemed pretty close).

On the other hand, the "2 years later" tag could have been inserted solely to seperate that segment from the main film and explain Yukio's absence.

Filling that gap would seem logical in normal circumstances, but DOFP (and maybe even XM:A) could well drastically alter the events of the present. It could be two more Logan appearances later at that point anway, so jumping back may prove redundant.

I'm sure the writers are privvy to information we are not of course, so we'll have to wait and see what the landscape is like when Wolverine 2 starts rolling.

Releasing it in March makes me think they might be going smaller, which would be great, IMO. In a perfect world, this would allow them to take all of the good aspects of The Wolverine and expand on them without the obligatory tentpole elements (I didn't hate TW's third act, but still). Less studio interference FTW.

The Hollywood Reporter: Fox Sets Dates for 'Wolverine,' 'Fantastic Four' Sequels

The studio announced The Fantastic Four 2 will open July 14, 2017, while an untitled Wolverine film will open March 3, 2017. Fox has also slated an untitled Marvel film for July 13, 2018.

Fox owns the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises, so the mystery 2018 Marvel film could draw from either of those. It's not unthinkable that the project might even be a crossover between the two.

James Mangold is returning to direct the sequel to The Wolverine, which earned more than $414 million globally last year.

Going smaller means something like The Wolverine which didn't really have a massive budget well for a blockbuster film so I don't have an issue with that.

Hopefully this March release date works out. But it feels weird, that for the 1st time a X-Men film will not be released in the summer.

Wolverine/Yukio/Kitty Pryde team-up movie please.

No, I'd much prefer Kitty. Her surrogate father/daughter relationship with Wolverine is something that I've always enjoyed in the comics and the prospect of Jackman and Page playing off each for an entire movie appeals to me.

Thing Is rogue took Kitty's role In trilogy and it's unclear if we get much interaction between them In DOFP besides kitty having her hands on logan for time travel mission.

I don't see Rogue and Kitty being in this film. The way I see it is Wolverine having another journey on his own and he gets to meet new people in this another journey. He's like a lone wolf. I don't see him leaving the X-Men taking Rogue or Kitty with him.

So David E Kelly is writing the new Wolverine script? :hehe:

Yeah, but the surrogate father-daughter relationship between Kitty and Logan is non-existent in the movies. It was scrapped in favor of Rogue-Logan. ;)

I don't want it to be a mutant fest. Yukio can join, of course, but for me that'd be certainly enough. Mangold's Wolverine broke some of the "Good mutie vs. Bad Mutie" formula and partly because of that it was better than I expected. I'd like the next one to distance itself even more from the usual comic book movies.

Then again, I trust Mangold whatever he decides to do, he knows his craft.

I think having mutants in the film is inevitable because of the universe they've set up.

I really don't know what stories they can go with now. Maybe enemy of the state as long as it doesn't end with going round knocking off the few gay superheroes there are

Yeah, that was then, this is now. Just because they didn't do it in the other movies doesn't mean that they can't do it now.

It would be like making another DoFP movie with Kitty as the time traveler instead of Wolverine. It's not gonna happen. Kitty doesn't have a surrogate father-daughter relationship with Wolverine, this role was given to Rogue.

Oh I know it's just wishful thinking on my part. But I'll continue wishing until we know more.

No, Malcolm David Kelly

So, has it occurred to anyone that the villain is going to be Donald Pierce, Omega Red or Daken? Mostly since those are the three biggest villains he has yet to fight.

I'm hoping for Omega Red.

Out of those three, Omega Red is the definitely the most-well known especially just with his appearances in the cartoons and the videogames. I hope he will be their choice as the villain.

Omega Red or Daken please. What about Cyber?
