The Offical thread to Vent if need be.

Kryptonite was always around in Smallville, it's essential for the show, if anything, there was much less in Season 5.

Well maybe but you still had anybody who needed it getting a rock very easily just like the invisibility guy. My issue is just that it is too easy to obtain it as it is.

KalKai said:
In ANY world, everybody knows that kryptonite can kill Superman, and Superman won't stay or live in Smallville lol.

Yes they do but they cannot find it so easily. I liked that in the uperman movie they had to steal a rock from a museum showing that it was rare. In the smallville world, I am a villain what do I do....hmmm well I can go to Smallville and grab a rock as they are all over the grounds (human Clark picking up a rock while walking with Lana). Then Superman is no longer a threat.

In any case, I enjoy the show for what it is but as the situation stands today Superman is not a threat to anybody who knows his weakness.

Any villain can obtain it as long as it exists somewhere and knows where to search, in any world. If it's rare or common doesn't really matter, at the end you'll get your hands on it anyway. Many enemies used it against Clark on the show but he still managed to survive and fight back.

Superman shouldnt be a threat to anyone. He should lead by example.

But in Smallville nobody really knows that Kryptonite/meteor rocks have an ill effect on Clark unless he tells them or they wittness the effects first hand.

All the guys in Belle Reeve do, but you know.. they're all crazy so.. lol.

I'm so glad you're here to tell me these things. ;)

There is another thing that bothers me, the amount of people in Belle Reeve that say nothing about Clark and if they do they are dismissed as being crazy, but surely these doctors would put two and two together

The doctors that do fall in love with their patients. And then they get committed.

Screw it I wasn't going to vent about this but how the **** can you give Lana a kid this early in life and not expect some people to get upset or to think they are trying to play off another project??? I mean it didn't fly well over the first time with fans for someone else so what makes them think it will fly over well with Lana??? I am serious all the stuff that plagued us this summer is happening again in the fall. This is a real bad idea if this does happen.

Well for starters, its not going to be Clark's baby. That's the BIG difference right there.

Second, its not Lois Lane its Lana Lang.

So Superman can never have kids is what your saying? So it is wrong for Batman to have a son? So it is wrong for Spider-Man to have a daughter? Your reason IMO is a weak one. If anyone should have a kid now is Superman you just about done everything with him and Lois but give him a kid. Hell even Lois & Clark were about to give him a child even though they were going to do it in a bad way.

Lana has a son already which I am not mad at but this whole because its Lana and not Lois carp doesn't fly. Thats not a good enough reason for you to say it is any better.

Also All-Star, it's only rumor right now and not fact, and hopefully won't ever be fact. :csad:

The upside is I think they are now this season going to play more of a Clark and Lois relationship than they have the last two seasons, and not as much Lana.

B8 I know its only a rumor but the other one started out as a rumor as well. Look all I saying is I want to see or know why you (alot of SV fans) are so quick to damn one thing but will defend this to death. And I am sorry but its the truth and most of you guys know it. This is a stupid as **** idea and they are IMO just copying another thing but just changing the mother around and it needs to be canned quick.

I dont know how to debate this without bringing up the movie. But I'll try and do it in a more general Superman kind of fashion.

I dont think there is anything wrong with Superman/Clark Kent having a child. There's nothing wrong at all.

However, being that he is Superman, it would be better if he was in a stable relationship and bringing a child into the world out of love and respect for his partner, when they were both ready.

Having him disappear and then re-appear back into the life of the woman who gave birth to his child, just makes the whole situation a domestic dispute.

Lana has a son already which I am not mad at but this whole because its Lana and not Lois carp doesn't fly. Thats not a good enough reason for you to say it is any better.

Well I only said that in terms of the mythology. As many posters keep reminding any and all who have a vested interest in Lana Lang, she is not a big part of Clark Kent's future and therefore how her life turns out isnt so detrimental to his future.

I have no problem with women having children out of wedlock and I dont think that is the issue that people took with regards to KBLois.

But as B8 said, this is just a rumour.

And I understand and I agree with you heres what I am saying if they (TPTB) can justify a good reason for Lana to have a child I will be fine with it but to give her a child just to give her a story line is a bad idea. Its like when they made her a witch just so she could have something to do on the show. Because doing this idea puts them in the same boat and I would hate for that to happen because this season I have high hopes for.

I'm actually not defending it at all, I also think it's a stupid idea. But I'm more hoping (right now) that it's just a rumor, and a fruitless one at that. Kind of like the Jason is really Etrigen the Demon type rumor that was going around during season four.

I think it's a ******ed idea no matter what media it's played in.
I agree with you about this rumor though. :O

I dont want to see it played out either, however its not within the realms of real life for a woman to fall pregnant by accident.

I do recall DeKnight saying that there was a plot that they were taking Lana down, and he didnt necessarily agree with it, but he still found it fascinating. If they can use it as a good plot (which is what storytelling is) to further both characters along then I'll see how it plays out.

and thats all I was asking out of you guys and you seem to always be the person to give the right answer. I may not agree with it but I will see it out since they do have (if this is true) 22 shows to tell this story.
