was Cole shoved unconscious?

I mean that was just like a flash bomb that went off right?

It seems really unrealistic that Jack could chase someone down the the street with a gun in New York. Or is it totally realistic?

When Jack held his gun to Dana in that final confrontation, I could hear millions of voices cry out "KILL HER!!! KILL HER!!!"

And when he did, I heard millions of people **** in their pants. :p

As much as I hate Dana Walsh, I am going to say that I was very disappointed in that moment.

I liked President Taylor until about three episodes ago when she sold out our country for her legacy and the sweet whisperings of Charles Logan. And I thought Jack was earnest in his desire to exact public justice on the Russians and people responsible for this. I thought he was trying to do the right thing.

I have not always agreed with Jack's methods (i.e. torture-scene-of-the-week) and I cheered when he executed Nina. But this was different. I thought he was standing up to his corrupt and cowardly government. By executing Dana, as despicable as she was, and the previews of next week of him using that information to kill, torture with blow torches, hunt and execute those responsible he is not seeking justice. He is seeking vengeance. And while seeing Jack get his own little moments of retribution throughout the series is nice, he just seemed like a small man at the end of this episode. It was far more satisfying to see the Secret Service arrest Charles Logan at the end of Season 5 than if Jack had killed him.

The episode began with us set-up to be in disgust with President Taylor for signing off on torture and murder (whether she openly acknowledges it or not) with Charles Logan, especially with the use of waterboarding and intended cover-up of Dana. Jack killing her is the exact same outcome as if he hadn't intercepted. And now instead of taking the information to the press, he is going to use it as a murder list?

I thought it was a great episode and I was very satisfied to be rid of Dana, but at the end of the episode I can't help but feel there are no heroes left on this show. The president, Chloe and now even Jack Bauer all seem to have sold out their values and the country for personal reasons and after 7 1/2 seasons of Jack Bauer being the go-to guy, I'm just disappointed to see him fall so far. But it is great television.

When did Chloe sell out? When she ordered them to bring Jack in? Unlike everyone else, she didn't have a choice. Issuing a non-lethal order shows that she was at least trying to do right by him. But if she hadn't, the President would have replaced her with someone not as loyal to Jack, and willing to have him brought down by any means.

Good point, I suppose I should take that back. I just feel out of career success and loyalty she is doing things she knows in her gut is not right--like letting Blackwater stand-ins walk away with a CTU prisoner to likely death and letting in a private sector mercenary-type have complete control over the Jack Bauer manhunt (which she has to know is the White House trying to make sure Jack doesn't come in alive). And while I understand she is only following the orders of the WH with reluctance that never stopped her from doing the right thing before in the series. Then again, seeing the direction Jack is going, he is not any better than the WH here. Maybe Chloe can save the day and put the rest in their place?

Chloe the hero of 24's final season? I like that a lot, actually.

"Nothing...Nothing." *bang*

Great episode. Jack has really gone off the deep end in a big way. I have no idea what to expect as a result. This isn't a mission. There is no justice in Jack's eyes. Just pure revenge. It ought to be great to watch. Almost has a Taken-ish vibe to it.

Which kinda brings me to my complaint. Jack's motive. I know they needed SOMETHING but Renee's death is kinda weak. I mean, yeah, they had sex but when it comes down to it, Jack has known her for less than two days of his whole life. He killed Curtis, to protect a terrorist who was going to lead to a peace deal. How is that any different from what Taylor is doing?

I can't help but wish it were Kim that they killed off. Jack's progression would feel far more natural in that scenario.

I think it's because any woman that Jack has been involved with either has died(Teri and Renee) or he loses them in another fashion(Audrey). As you said, he's simply motivated by revenge now and I definitely believe there's a justice ideal within him too, he's just now utilizing a take no prisoners direction and I think it's fresh.

There's still plenty of time (well, four hours anyway) for Jack to do the right thing and (hopefully) bring down the Taylor administration. Right now he's just getting revenge on some Ruskies. Best of both worlds I say.

Don't forget Ethan. He's still an absolute good guy.

I dont know if anybody realized this but Jack pretty much ended that random cop's career when he shot him in the foot. You can't be a cop anymore with a bad leg. I'd never forgive Jack for that if that were me. Sometimes you've gotta think about all the innocents that get in Jack's way whenever he does what's necessary.

That depends, was it a through and through or a souvenir?

I liked
"You wont shoot the shots too ris..............." BANG!

Well excuse me but he did say sorry!!! :wow:

That's an understatement. I loathed everything about her. Her storyline, her character, her acting. Everything. Nothing gave me greater satisfaction than those last few minutes. Stupid *****.

Even her ridiculously tight (occasionally moist) shirt?!? :woot:

Yeah he did apologize to that cop.

I hope this ends bad for Taylor, i've liked her up until the point she started listening to Logan (who i love btw) over Keener. Once Dalia Hassan finds out what Taylor has done/knows, it's over.

Now that Chloe is no longer in command of finding Bauer, i see her redeeming herself by secretly tipping him off. I also see Taylor realizing what a mistake she has made and possibly stepping down from office by the days end.

I just wanted to add; what the hell was up with Cole last night? He clearly still has a soft spot for Dana. He was really letting her get inside his head...again. I think once he finds out Bauer killed her, he might start believing both what Dana and Chloe had said that Jack was truly out of control, and might go after him.

Also; i found it strange that Bauer didn't check Dana's body. She could have easily tossed him the fake file, escaped, only to have Jack later discover that she still had the real one on her somewhere and that he had been duped. I say that because if he has search her, he would have found that wad of cash she had on her! I'm sure he'll need it....

24 Finale Party Pics
Former castmembers return.

Great to see the old cast again!

I forgot how much i missed Sherry Palmer. She's right up there with Logan, as one of my favorite '24' antagonists! The actress that playeed her did an awesome job making me despise her.:woot:

didn't he stock up at Michael Madsen's last episode though? He's probably got everything he needs. I think in his situation now, bullets and guns > cash

I think Jack is in the right. The Russians tried to sabotage the peace agreement. They cannot be trusted. Sure they sign now but whats going to prevent them from going against it.
Dana deserved to die and I hope she burns in hell....lol

I hope we find out that Logan was in on it

As for Jack burning that russian guy in the preview...what would any of us do if we came face to face with the man that killed our loved ones????

This.

More and more, they're turning Jack into a f***ing hypocrite. It's okay for him to go out on a revenge spree for a woman he barely knew, but when Tony does it to avenge his wife and unborn child, he's the villain.

And as much as Jack tries to convince himself it's about justice, that's exactly what this is, revenge. As he's well proved it by killing Dana. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the ****** is finally dead, and it should have happened about a dozen episodes ago, but it's still pretty weak.

I mean, I'm okay with him going out for revenge and all, but don't act all high and mighty when someone else does it. You end up looking like a complete *****ebag.

Not only that, but Taylor, who seemed like a worthy successor to David Palmer, is now a completely pathetic. Pity.

It's a shame such a great show has to go down with such a terrible season. By now, I'm just treading water and ready to see it go.

Wasnt Tony trying to blow up americans???

It is about justice..old testament eye or an eye justice.

im liking the season so far

Jack is earning him a solid *****e stamp this season.

How can you compare Tony to Jack? Yes they're both motivated by revenge but Tony committed multiple acts are pure terrorism against the innocent long before season 7 even started (according to him), in order to get close to the man in charge. You can't compare the two. Dana was executed, but she was a traitor and a terrorist herself. It's no different from Jack killing Nina Meyers once he saw no need for her, for killing his wife. I don't remember seeing any one complaining about that execution.

Just think back to all the things they did show Tony do; he kidnapped that one guy in front of his daughter then later killed him in the first few eps of the season 'cause they needed him to build some component for them; he executed Renea's FBI fiancée in order to maintain his cover. Tony crossed the line. Jack hasn't. If Tony were in the same situation Jack was in last week when those CTU agents were trying to capture him, i seriously doubt Tony would have speared their lives like Jack did
