Do you think he could work as a villain in a sequel? I think he would be pretty cool.

Totally agreed, my dear keeper of the eternal flame.
I very much consider Blackout as the main GR villain, mostly for one good reason: he was the first GR original villain.
Of course, Mephisto, Blackheart and Scarecrow are awesome, but Blackout was borno in the GR title, is his nemesis.
I would love to see their confrontation.

I would think Blackout would have to be an absolute must for a sequel, if we see one. His character was pivotal in the development of the Ketch/Ghost Rider character. It would only seem right that he would be one of the next major threats Rider faces.

Isn't Black Heart a combination of Black Out and Black Heart. I heard he has Black Outs powers? But I think he would be cool to see!

Id like to see Blackheart use his brains over GR's brawns in a movie. For every step GR takes in not harming a civilian, Blackheart takes him to the edge. Its like slow torture for the host of the Spirit of Vengeance. The more GR runs after him, the more Blackheart attacks those he knows and cares about. The struggle really being between a really smart and maniacal killer vs a naive Danny Ketch, and a one-track minded and determined spirit of vengeance.

If that doesnt work, we always got Zarathos, Skinner, Lilith, Vengeance, the Blood, Mephisto himself even.

Nic Cage said he wouldnt do any sequels unless he felt the script for the sequel is better in everyway than the first.

That poses a big challenge for the writers, but all in all, if GR is a success, there will be sequels, whether Nic Cage recasts or not.
