Reading a article about ''The Incredible Hulk'', i found information about the first draft of the movie script, written by Zak Penn before Edward Norton get hired and rewrite it.

Among other things, i found out that:

. SHIELD would be envolved.

. Rick Jones would show up.

. Hulk would fight with polar bears on Artic.

. Hulk would fight with a Whale.

I Tought there would be cool to have a thread to discuss informations about that. Well... What to you think of this version?

The only bit that appeals to me there is having rick in the movie.

^Me too, there should'nt be too much hulk fighting animal, c'mon whats a whale gonna do to him!

He could always throw it into the ocean and hit a yacht.

yeah see this would have been alright. You've got hancock throwing a whale a mile or so in the trailers and yet I don't think we're going to get a Hulk scene like that. Oh well...I'm still pretty jacked up either way.

Y'know, it's this whole bear/whale bit that bugs me when I think about it. It sounds like Penn's first draft involved Hulk spending a significant amount of time in the Arctic, continuing his hidden vendetta against sea animals and whatnot. Now put that in the light of this recent WGA ruling...how does that count as a significant contribution to the final film?

Too right Norton prevented this movie from turning into a wildlife documentary.

Beats me.

Evan Leterrier said that the Whale fight was stupid.

My problem with Hulk fighting animals is that that is out of character for him. He usually takes to animals and they take to him.

He did fight what appeared to be a kraken in tempest fugit.

Penn also created the concept of retell how Bruce became the Hulk during the initial credits and mention the fact during the movie.

By the way, the bear/whale scene was Leterrier's idea.

Didn't he end up taming him?

A whale...sharks, maybe, but in the Planet Hulk Prelude , he was seen fishing with a grizzly. More times than not he's been shown to relate to animals.

Needed some Polar Bears and maybe a Giant spider.

Bears taking on Marvel heavyweights is never a good idea.

Leave this stuff for the Will Ferrell movies. Thank God Ed Norton stepped in.

Either. Spiders are Natures most dangerous predator. Jon Peters said that once.

Most dangerous INSECT!

The nature's most dangerous predator it's the polar bear. By the way, i hope Hulk doesn't end up green. It's a gay color. And i don't want to see him jumping either. He must have a Hulk-mobile. And, why not? I Want a damn Chewie Like creature! Can't the Abomination be furry?

Since I'm not too edumicated on the Marvel Universe, who is Rick Jones?

Bruce saved him from the gamma bomb explosion that created the Hulk. He's been Bruce/Hulk's companion ever since. Modern storytellers tend to put him on the sidelines, but Rick was once a major character in the comics.

Spiders aren't insects...
