Clint Barton....
Can he support his own film?
What should his costume be?
Should he be in the Avengers?
Should he start of as a thief?
Who should play him?

Discuss all that here

There are alot of good choices IMO. Ackles would be good, but after seeing Running Scared I think Paul Walker would be cool...if he actually decides to act well

I don't think Hawkeye should have his own movie. I think he would work best in the context of the team. That said, I suggested Ryan Kwanten a while back and I am sticking with that one.

I believe Hawkeye should be the lead in a SHIELD movie if they ever make one rather than SLJ. An ensemble movie with him as the lead or beginning to join the group.

I voted Cam Gigandet. I think he was quite charismatic as a cocky bad-boy in the otherwise bland Never Back Down.

I voted ackles, although i hope he gets Cap

if they skew older, Jeffery Donovan or Timothy Olyphant

I'ld still choose Eric Christian Olsen me.

But from the list above I chose Ryan Kwanten

I just think that after watching True Blood, especially season 2, that Kwanten could pull off being kind of a hotshot who is sometimes at odds with a boyscout leader like Captain America and out to prove himself, since he is 100% human on a team of super soldiers, gods, and men wearing billion dollar weapon suits.

I went with Ackles. I've never seen that Kwanten dude act but he definitely looks the part. And I would love to see Hawkeye in The Avengers.

Yeah Im not sure about a solo film. I havent read any Hawkeye solo comics, but even the character himself seems like he works better in a Avengers film

I don't like any of the choices. Always liked the Barry Pepper suggestion, but I think there is prolly someone better

I feel like Hawkeye would be really easy to cast. Any young, fit, blonde actor who's good at acting cocky would be able to pull it off just fine. Well, any GOOD actor, obviously.

How could Hawkeye carry his own movie? What kind of solo mythos does he have? Does he have his own rogues gallery or supporting cast?

That's what I was thinking. He's best to just put in The Avengers and/or Shield movies.

Id want him to be in avengers and shiled movie

I voted for the very southern Josh Holloway from Lost. He's perfect as Clint, former thief and lady-charmer. And I could see him arguing with Cap. And he's about the same age as Robert Downey and Ed Norton.

For sure he should be in the Avengers film, in a similar role that he played in the Ultimates, where he was special ops, not necessarily part of the main super-powered team at first. Maybe with Black Widow.

Here's hoping we get to see him in a movie soon.

He must be in the Avengers movie. Also, his costume should be purple. It doesn't have to be full purple, but there should be some in it. The mask should also be like the classic 616 mask, maybe the body could be a mix between 616 & Ultimate.

Black Widow was a big part in the start so you are set with a potential female lead, and you got some B list villains you can work with. He can definitely carry his own film.

Yeah, a Hawkeye movie could be pretty good. But he should be introduced in an Avengers movie first.

What villains does he have? I don't think Oddball can carry his own movie.

You have Swordsman, Trickshot, pretty much C-listers but it depends on how they are written. You just have to ground the villains and make it believable, sort of like villains of the Punisher or Dare Devil, or to jump into the DC universe, Batman type villains. I have said it over and over, I think Wanted is a good model for a Hawkeye/SHIELD movie, where Barton gets recruited by SLJ and SJ's characters, only you wouldn't be dealing with a team of assassins or anything too over the top. That's why I'd prefer they introduce him in a similar film before an Avengers film assuming he won't show up in the 2012 Avengers movie.

He should be introduced in Avengers. I read he used to have a relationship with Black Widow so that would be cool to see. Probaly causing some tension with him and Tony. HAve him break into the mansion or whatever it'll be in the movie. That could be a bad ass action scene

As far as costumes go...I've never been a fan of his standard costume I actually like this one

Except Batman has a better rogues gallery then that. I don't see how any of these villains are compelling to carry a movie.

I don't know, I think whoever plays Captain America is the cast member whose general age group Clint should match. If the cast an older, more established actor for Cap, then I could see Holloway. But an older Hawkeye and a younger Cap doesn't really fit the relationship I've always pictured them having. Another question is whether Holloway wants to play another cocky, snarky hothead. And whether the audience can look at him in a role like that and see Hawkeye and not Sawyer with a mask and bow.
