Reason #7 why Ultimate Spider-Man blows.

Heh, right now? Most definitely but I'll keep the door cracked a little in case they can turn it around.

(Sad Smile)
Well this Blows the Hell out of Continuity and canon.

I will wait and see how Mcduffie explains The king of a nation, a leader of another team and two founding members of the FF all swap places.

What? The Panther gives REED and SUE a bungalo in Wakanda right next to a super laboratory with a set of guards to make sure Reed works maybe four days a week and spends the other 3 with Sue until he gets a clue and spends MORE time with his wife?

The Panther Really REALLY doesn't have time for this UNLESS there is something this willprevent from happening OR will somehow benifit his country.

Currently in "Wait and See" mode.

I agree there are others that would fit in more naturally as fill ins for Reed and Sue until they all get back together. I like BP and Storm, but they do not fit in the F4. They fit in the Avengers, heck I could see BP joining the X-Men as they've had a normal human kinda on the team before, but not the F4.

I'm not going to bash the book as it hasn't even came out, I just think those in power missed the point of the F4 with this incarnation. Knowing things will go back to normal in less than a year makes this not that big of an issue to me, it just means it'll be around a year until I pick up F4 again.

BP and Storm have Earthly obligations, and can't just leave to do a space adventure for weeks at a time on the spot. I have a feeling they'll be restricted to what every other team does, which takes away that distinctive F4 feeling.

T'challa and Storm have earthly obligations, but that doesn't mean you cant help a friend in need just because you are the ruler of a country, especially since nobody ****s with Wakanda.

I'm not even a fan of Black Panther or Storm, but I think that these Four fit together very well. When I think of Fantastic Four Allies, I think Silver Surfer, Black Bolt, and Black Panther. Storm is the most out of place but I dont really see her as an Avenger either, hell there have only been about 2 X-Men (Beast & Wolverine) that have ever been Avengers. Thing and Johnny are good enough for me, the connection they have is enough to keep the family aspect of the book going, Johnny and Ben's relationship is as important if not more important than Reed and Sue's.

Though a Fantastic Four without Mr. Fantastic feels wierd, it is always gonna feel wierd when it's not the original 4. I'm sure that Reed and Sue will appear in the book, just not active on the team.

They are not gonna deal with space exploration. I dont remember Hulk, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Ghost Rider doing space exploration, when they where the Fantastic Four.

Yeah, they'll likely just be dealing with the aftermath of the Civil War what with everybody on the team being anti-reg and all.

I dont care how good of friends Johnny and Peter are i personally dont think Spider-Man is Fantastic Four material.

yeah, and?

so have peter and matt.

to say that the human torch and spider-man are as close as mr. fantastic and the things is just dumb.

that's like saying howard the duck and chamber are as close as luke cage and iron fist.

Peter and Johnny have always related much better to one another than Peter and Matt. Most of Spidey's team-ups with Daredevil have resulted in clashes of ideologies, etc. with Spidey being depicted as the younger, naive, optimistic do-gooder and Daredevil as the older, hardened, pragmatist. Check out the ASM Gang War arc or the PPTSSM Sin Eater arc. Whereas, Johnny is relatively the same age as Spidey and the two end-up just having a lot of fun together, talking about girl problems, pulling silly pranks on one another, etc. Check out the Spider-man/Human Torch mini (which ends with a great scene of the FF hanging with the Parkers) as well as their team-ups in ASM, Marvel Team-up, and Untold Tales of Spider-man. Peter relates much better to Johnny than Matt.

Untold Tales of Spider-man #13 is a great story too with a guilt-ridden Spidey recounting a tragic event to an unseen listener who turns out to be Johnny Storm at the end. Peter relates much better to Johnny than Matt.

i just disagree. maybe 30 years ago, spider-man and the human torch were good friends, and had lots of team ups. not so anymore. they have NOTHING in common save for being superheroes.

when karen page died, who's the guy that talked matt through it? who's the guy that met matt the day of the funeral at their "spot"? just becuase they don't "team up" as much, doesn't mean they're not close. I see matt and peter as having more in common with each other, and each other realizing that. they've both lost someone they loved because of what they do, and right now, they're both on the other side of the law.

if peter needed advice or just someone to talk to, i think he'd go to matt, and the opposite has been shown as well.

And yet, he's been known to have gone to Johnny as well when he's had problems. They have regular meetings at the Statue of Liberty. They had a heart to heart about MJ when she left him some years back.

I dont know nearly as much about there relationship as you guy's but, my 2 cents is that just becuase Johnny and Peter have more fun with eachother doesn't mean they are better friends than Peter and Matt, Matt and Peter seem to have a deeper relationship than just fun and girls.

Cant Peter just be as close to both of them, why does he have to be closer to one of them?

exactly.

that's what i think. peter and matt's relationship is much, much deeper.

i mean, really...how deep can johnny storm actually get??

what disappoints was after the excellent beyond i was looking forward to mcduffies run.

:(

^^^^^^^^You guys are really making this gay. Not even playing. Anyway, pretty kool about the new lineup, but here's the real problem for me... WHO WILL LEAD?!?:wow: I see three leaders on this team (well, only two, i don't like panther THAT much) This can surely cause some problems.

yeah pete was one of the first people matt had a proper chat with after karen died.

Deep enough for Pete have spoken with him about the loss of Gwen Stacy shortly after she died.

But, I agree with supermarvelman. He can be close to both really. But that's not the debate here. The debate is, is he close enough to Johnny to be considered for membership with the FF? That answer would be yes.

The line-up can be cool, and it will be greta seeing McDuffie write BP. I kind of wish it was Sue and Johnny though, but who knows, maybe theyre killing Sue off.

Yeah, the Ben on the team thing really threw me off. I was really hoping for sue.

It pretty much confirms Sue on New Avengers though. Sue is my favorite Marvel female character, and its sad I won't be reading her anymore.

Well, they did say that She and Reed will be taking some time off to get their relationship in order, so she's likely not to be in the New Avengers. Especially with Reed's with her.

If you think it sounds gay than thats your problem, but its not, so get over it.

I think Ben should be the leader.

He's been Reed's best friend for years, I think Johnny would fully accept and respect Ben as the leader. I think that Black Panther and Storm would both realize and respect that it isnt really there team to lead, even if they are very qualified. Ben would be a very good leader, he's strong and he stands for what he believes in, I think he could be as good of a leader as Captain America

Where did they say that?

as long as this new line-up is temporary (which it is).

i just don't like the idea that the fantastic four isn't...well...the "four".

by the way, darth, i like your avatar.

go to the link on the first page. Reed will not be on the Fantastic Four because he trying to work things out with Sue, so I think its safe to say that she will be taking a break.

It's rude to tell someone to "get over it," you know. I really took offense to that. And I didn't say it SOUNDED gay, I said you guys were MAKING it gay. "Matts peter's best friend!" "No, Johnny!" There's a difference between homo gay and pointless gay....

EDIT - See, right at the end I stopped myself from saying something I shouldn't have said.
