Jay's being a metahuman makes no sense, since it was the hard water that gave him his powers and he was just as tied to the Speed Force as everyone else. There's gotta be more to it.

Jesse Quick burned her powers out lending her speed to Wally against Zoom. Max Mercury was possessed by the Rival, but apparently he died at some point because he was in the Speed Force along with Barry Allen and Johnny Quick in Infinite Crisis.

Steel isn't from Detroit, he's from Washington, D. C.

They already said the main reason, but I think it might have something to do with his Golden Age origin. Sorta like how Alan Scott can be a GL without being in the Corp.

Alan's a Green Lantern because he took the name "Green Lantern" and he could kick the ass of any Corps GL who tried to tell him anything about it. Simple as that.

No, the Starheart has two links to the Corps: 1) it's the sum of all the wild magic the Guardians gathered up and shot off into space to basically clean the universe of stray magic, and 2) it absorbed some rogue Corps GL named Yalan Gur.

Superman- Eastern European, probably Communist, he'd be the ultimate weightlifter

Flash- Black, obviously.

Green Lantern- hmm, if you go military, then a white (i guess black maybe) drill sergeant. If you go artsy, he's obviously a white homosexual.

Wonder Woman- obviously a butch lesbian, with biceps bigger than your head.
