Funny - alot of people said Wally would always be Kid Flash when he replaced Barry. You see the symmetry here?

Me? I'm firmly in the 'Wally' camp. I have fond memories of Barry Allen as the Flash from when I was a kid but Wally was the one who made the character truly special imo.

It would be a real shame if Bart took over from Wally for the same duration that Wally took over from Barry.

(Yeah, I know - - total hypocracy, but s**t happens)

Yeah, Alan's eye seems ok in the JSA arc. I figured JSA just takes place slightly earlier than the other OYL comics.

As for Bart, he's retired because the Speed Force is gone and he no longer has super-speed. Joan Hilty said something like the SF would be more important than ever in the post-OYL DCU, though. My guess is that it'll come back in some new form and Bart will come back as the Flash. Or, at least I'm hoping that'll be the case. While I'd prefer Jay Garrick as the Flash rather than Bart, I certainly don't want to see the Flash stuck at the speed of sound, max, because he's just got meta-gene-based speed. The whole Crisis has just sucked for the Flashes all around, it seems.

I'm pretty sure it was stated that the Speed Force was a part of the Source. As far as I know the Source isn't magical, it's where all of the sci-fi energies of the DC universe come from.

Oh okay. I don't know much about the origins of the SF or any of that stuff. I'm a relatively new Flash reader so this restart will be real nice, although I was kind of dissapointed about Jay being the only Flash, mainly cause I think his costume looks stupid and he's an old man (or was an old man if the outsiders stuff turns out to be the real deal.)

I don't mind who the flash is just don't keep the "flashes" top speed restricted to sound. That would hurt my feelings but, wouldn't surprise me becuase from what i've been seeing in GL,Glcorps it looks like everyone is getting somewhat of a depowering. Or at least in my eyes so maybe IC didn't just hurt the flash.

Yeah, eventually, when he gets his powers back, he will be the new Flash. They didn't just up and age him to an adult for no reason.

I don't get what Bart means by Barry's costume being the only thing that'd survive the trip back. It was just that ultra-compressable cloth, wasn't it? How was it in any way superior to Bart's own costume? If it were Wally's costume made of pure Speed Force energy, I could understand, but Barry's costume?
