t I think waid should've taken a page out of busiek's handle on Chris Kent. we get him in small doses,while focsuing the larger story on superman.

Waid's arc is just too melodramatic and boring for my tastes.

The thing about Busiek's take on Chris Kent is, that it's not his take. The only reason we get him in small doses is because, Johns and Kubert haven't finished their story with him. I fully expect Chris Kent to have a larger role when that AC Annual hits.

And your tastes have been shown over and over again, to be horrible.

Agreed. I like Williams, but he's just so off for this series. I liked him a lot better on Robin.

Either way he handles chris better then waid handling the twins. I just don't care for these bastards and I'm not diging the whole "fantastic four" angle he's rolling with. I don't want to read a flash series with flash doing his superhero routine with two *****ebags at his side.

hahaha, i did stop reading it. But the Flash is an book that i would like to pick up again..unfortunately waid's arc has'nt met my expectations. I will continue to voice my opinion until a better flash creative team comes along.

Of all the Heroes throughout the DC universe; what always made the concept of Flash so appealing was the he was the hero with a sense of family.
Batman was considered the Rebel (loner)
Superman was seen as the embodiment of Power
Wonder Woman was looked as the Beauty
Green Lantern was seen as the Lucky One (being in the right place at the right time)
and
Flash was seen as the hero with the family. As Wally once said during an introduction: he was the one that ran/walked with the people. (while other heroes hid from the people; soared above them; etc--Armageddon Flash Annual)
He's supposed to be the hero who readers can immediately identify with.
But as much as I am somewhat disappointed in the Wally's kids being twins but looking different ages....(still can't get)
I am more disappointed that many readers think that Wally shouldn't be the Flash JUST BECAUSE HE'S A FAMILY MAN (FATHER AND HUSBAND)[/B]

I can understand Waid's confusion when one second it seemed he was onpar with the online community and then all of a sudden after he writes about what should happen in the course of a characters life (the inevitable road of marriage and kids) and all of a sudden he's discarded online for some.

Makes a person want to scratch their head and say, "huh? what just happened."

or maybe waid is handling the family aspect poorly?? the flash book has been through enough ****... reading about two kids with unstable powers in a melodramatic storyarc isn't something readers are interested in, after being BS'ed around for over a year. on who the flash was,then killing off bart(which was really unreasonable) then switching creative teams to waid, who we thought was going to bring some excitement to the title, soemthing that didn't happen.

I can care less about him having kids..but he really didn't handle that aspect very well. I've grown a distaste for those two little squirts.

so i think many flash fans have the right be upset.


spiderman and OMD is an Entirely different beast that you really can't compare it too.
people have been yearning for years to see spiderman move on with his life, get a wife and family, then to have all of that taken away is just a huge ***** slap to the face.

Waid's not handling the kids as well as I thought he would. He's not handling anything in Flash as well as I thought he would, really. He does still know how to write Wally and what makes him tick, though. That much is still good.

I agree with the bare bones of your sentiment, not the extent to which you hold it. I don't think Waid is terrible on Flash right now, I just think he's not up to his usual standard. It's mediocre for him, which is still usually decent. I just expected so much more.

It's one of my favorite post-CoIE/pre-IC series. It got a little weird towards the end, but I suspect that's because Peyer knew the series would soon be canceled and had to wrap everything up quickly.

That general period was one of the best times to be a DC reader. Chronos, JLA, Resurrection Man, Hourman, Aztek (obviously he was a bit earlier than some of those others), Shadow of the Bat, Legends of the Dark Knight...ah, good times.

Yeah, I miss them. I wish Johns would have Rex finish rebuilding the android Hourman already. Rick doesn't have to be the only active Hourman.

Yeah, we've got two Wildcats, we've got two active Flashes, we've got FIVE (count 'em, five) active Green Lanterns, and we HAD two active Green Arrows till Connor got maybe bumped.

Of course, the way they've written Connor, "active" is a relative term, I suppose.

Anyway, what I really want is a new Resurrection Man ongoing.
