Yeah, we've got two Wildcats, we've got two active Flashes, we've got FIVE (count 'em, five) active Green Lanterns, and we HAD two active Green Arrows till Connor got maybe bumped.

Of course, the way they've written Connor, "active" is a relative term, I suppose.

Anyway, what I really want is a new Resurrection Man ongoing.

.....and let's not forget: 4 Robins; 3 Batmans; 2 Batgirls; 2 Kid Flashes; 2 Wonder Girls; 3 Wonder Womans; 4 Flashes; 3 Nightwings; 4 Sandmans; etc, etc....(I could be wrong about the Sandmans)

Well, I meant active at the same time, though.

Sandmans...we've really only had three of those. Wesley Dodds, that weird Kirby fella in the 70s, and the current one in JSA (who needs some more damned face time. I'm tired of him showing up one panel every six issues.)

Morpheus and Daniel aren't really Sandman, in the sense that they don't ever go by that name.

Hector Hall was technically a Sandman, too. As much as that "Kirby fella," anyway.

He was CALLED Sandman? I didn't remember that, but it's been awhile.

He was also stuck back in that costume in the Dreaming in one of the last JSA stories under the abbreviated title.

Yep. My faith in Johns has been shaken lately, but Kolins is always a sure bet. So long as Johns writes the Rogues the way he did when he was on Flash, I'm down.

I like what Johns does with DCU world-building because it feels like what would actually happen. The whole mess of nonsense that lead up to and followed Bart Allen's death just felt so unnatural and forced. This feels like what would and should have happened in the first place.

The Flash #236
And Waid's first arc finishes. Look, if you like the kids, you'll like it. If you don't like the kids, you won't like it. It's pretty simple. I like the kids, so I liked it.

Still hate the art, though, which is unfortunate.

Backup tales on Savoth conclude as well, finally telling the story of where Wally went after drop-kicking Superboy-Prime, and as I feared it makes completely zero sense with Bart's recollection of events. It's a good story of course, which lets me forgive a lot.

(7.7 out of 10)

Yeah, the last issue wasn't amazing. It was all right. I liked the interplay between John Stewart and Wally, but the rest was kind of ho-hum. I wish we could see more of Savoth, though. What a way to get rid of the one actually fresh and interesting concept in this series. :(

So did Wally go to, what I presume was, Earth-2 after IC? I'm confused by the time-line here.

Right. I read the issue as well. But Wally also appears in Flash FMA #6 and gives Bart the flash ring on "Earth 2." Thus where my confusion lies. Bart also mentions knowing the twins and saying they were kind of annoying. So somehow Barry, Max, Bart and Superboy-Prime were sent to "Earth 2" while Wally, Linda and the twins were sent to Savoth only to meet up with the rest of the speedsters later on "Earth 2"? After then Superboy-Prime escapes and Bart chases him back to New Earth, and later Wally and the rest of the West family is zapped back by LEGION? So are Max and Barry still on "earth 2?" Is this the general story they are trying to push on us?

The great (read: horrible) thing is that even if you ignore the "Earth-2" scene which appeared in Bart's series, you still have Bart during 52 telling everyone that he's met the twins before and seen how fast they're growing. Which is complete insanity right now because there's no way Bart has been anywhere near Savoth.

It's almost like when they were plotting out the whole Infinite Crisis/52/OYL/Countdown on the big board at DC headquarters, they just had a big question mark for the flash. These conflicting stories are ridiculous.

Thing is, it's totally believable that someone would do a thing like that on TV. Aside from the occasionally STUNNINGLY ham-handed and overexpositional dialogue Peyer gave Spin, this was a solid gold issue with some great commentary (anting-ray) about the media.

Did anyone else think this felt more like classic Waid Flash than Waid's vagina-monster run?

So it was good and I should have bought this last issue?
