The Official Flash thread

Yeah, I don't see a problem with doing things by myself. Society's moving in a pretty nice direction, as far as I'm concerned.

Right, we have an extreme, unhealthy, creepy level of artificial, fake connectedness, but we all go fishing alone.

I don't find it creepy. I think this is more just a personal thing for you that you're trying to inflate into a societal concern.

Now, I wish my Southland Tales DVD would get here already. I ordered it from Amazon 2 whole days ago! :cmad:

GREAT story, just wish the promotion of the movie would have been handled better, it could have done really good in the box office if the higher ups knew what the hell they were doing.

Anyone still reading this? Anyone? Bueller?

I loved this week's issue. Peyer's nailed the tone and tenor of Wally West's life perfectly. It was great seeing Grodd again, and having him completely **** up Spin's plans was lovely. Curious about what's going on with Iris.

Oh man! I didnt update my cell phone with all the new dates that the flash comes out. Dammit. I didnt have that one came out today. And my comic store is closeddd. :(

Okay I really hate the art of the book and IMO the story was meh. The whole part about being slower than thought seems like it was just there to make Grodd seem like a threat. Its been stated before that Wally is faster than thought and seeing that really pulled me out of the story for a moment. I still don't like the boys power but I do like Iris and am interested in seeing what happens to her. Also what was up with tweedle dee and tweedle dumb?

I agree. Peyer's a great fit for this book. Now all that's needed is a better artist.

I'm curious about whether Iris' transformation might tie into her Kingdom Come thing as Kid Flash. That's one KC reference that I wouldn't mind seeing in the main DCU, provided Jai still gets his share of the spotlight.

Isn't that reality void though? In Kingdom Come her brother's name was Barry, he was lazy and wanted nothing to do with heroics, and IIRC he was older and they didn't age rapidly.

Yeah, so? It doesn't have to mirror KC in every way to be an allusion to KC. A guy who's identical to KC's Magog is currently appearing in JSA, but he's called Gog and he seems like a religious fanatic instead of just a screw-up.

I see I did get that you meant only as an allusion. Well if Iris becomes Kid Flash where does that leave Jai?

Actually JSA's Gog is vastly different to KC's (Ma)Gog. But going by those trailers in the last issue we aren't far away from seeing KC Magog.

That's up to Peyer. I'm just saying, I liked Iris' KC costume and I wouldn't mind seeing it transition into the main DCU. Her and Jai's current costumes are horrendous.

[blackout]Lance is going to be Magog[/blackout].

Not my theory, but I like it.

Hmm really? I guess that works.

That character has been such a non-entity for me I never gave him much thought.

I definitely agree with you on that one.

I also kinda liked lazy Barry. He reminded me alot of early Wally with his laid back attitude. It would've been nice to see something happen to finally make him get off his ass and become a true hero. Jai seems to be much more of a natural hero than his alternative counterpart but his powers are lame. They should have given him the ability to lend and steal speed to inanimate objects which would still functionally be super strength but would fit alot better IMO.

Magog muttered something to him that I can't quite remember what it was right now but it seemed significant or something. And also, and I never really noticed this before, but their weapons look a lot alike. Like, too much for coincidence.

...hey, which thread is this anyway?

Eh, lazy Barry reminded me too much of young Bart. It was like they were rehashing Bart but to a higher level.

And it looks like the kids' powers may be a-changin'.

Hey, so Flash Facts, if they make Iris Kid Flash like in KC, do you think they'll just make Jai Kid Flash as well, like how there are two Wildcats and multiple Green Lantern.
