Makes sense that Batman would be able to discover who killed his parents IMO. He is the greatest detective in the DCU. Would look odd if he can't find the culprit who got the whole Batman thing going.

It's a cold case. Even Batman has limits. As soon as they gave the killer a name and a face they gave Batman and his pain an out... Joe chill represents something Batman should never attain... A full stop. A sense of peace.... And Batman should never have that solace... That night should always be a raw open wound for him... A question with no answer driving him crazy.

I think they did it so Morrison could touch on it in one of his stories. He's really pushing this idea that every Batman adventure somehow did happen to one man, and I think he really likes the one where Batman confronts Chill.

Meh. Hopefully it's revealed as another fever dream or something and Joe Chill vanishes into the night again.

I grew up with a "Joe Chill as the killer of the Waynes"... a hired gun by Lew Moxon who wanted to see Thomas Wayne dead...

Yep... that's the Batman I grew up with, and if he's back in the DC mythology, then that's one of the very few things I'm encouraged to see with DC's A-listers...

:yay:

Batman's limits are far more then your average detective. He's training is at levels far above normal investigators, his own squad of like minded individuals who have more resources then ordinary police and access to sci-fi technology.

But what does Joe Chill add to the Batman mythos? I don't think he adds anything. I think he takes away a bit of motivation.

The Flash: Rebirth preview was pretty damn good. While it certainly hyped up Barry to extreme levels, it didn't marginalize Wally so far. Although, it does have New York's Titans Tower rebuilt.

Yeah, it was decent. What Jay said made sense, but I pretty much barfed when Alan and Ted chimed in all, "Yeah, Barry's super-totally the greatest evar, gyze!! We'd be washed-up old fogeys without him!" :o The hero-worship from Wally was fine. It's not like it's anything new--he's always looked up to Barry. I liked how Iris and Jai were there as a visual reminder of how far Wally's come. Hopefully Johns remembers that over the rest of the series.

I really won't mind the hero worship as long as Wally isn't totally ****ed over. Which from the preview, he is sorta treated as Barry's equal.

Just finished it at Newsarama. Love the art on Wally without the mask. Great stuff.

I kinda :dry:ed a little in my mouth at that JSA scene, too.

But y'know, Barry actually did bring forth the silver age and defined post-war superheroics. The comics industry looked like it was gonna poop, and then along came the new Flash. It's not like Johns just pulled that out of thin air.

I know he started the Silver Age and there's a whole symbolic thing going on, but still, Alan and Ted going ga-ga over Barry is annoying.

"NEWS FLASH! DC RELEASES PREVIEW OF COMIC BOOK WHICH CONFIRMS THAT IT WILL MARGINALIZE WALLY WEST! FOR SOME REASON, FANS ACT AS IF THAT ISN'T THE CASE!

In other news, I hate the Hype's policy on capitalization."

Because, you know, people never talk about the merits of people at events. Like funerals, weddings, anniversaries, bah mitzvahs, and welcome back parties.

Unheard of...

HAHAHA

When Linda says the return of Kid Flash I guess that means Bart isnt staying in the 31st Century

I was always going to check this out because I like Johns even though I disagree with this resurrection, but the blatant ego stroking of Barry by the others was a little much

Damn, was Wally wearing a Green Lantern ring cause his eyes were colored really ****ing bright.
