Eh, I liked what he said about Kyle because it's true. He doesn't have the history Hal does.

History doesn't mean squat. Potential does.

My only problem with Johns and Kyle is how Johns treated Kyle in SCW. Other than that, his track record with Kyle hasn't been too bad. He actually did good work with him in Rebirth.

Like I've mentioned before, I've been reading some Flash from the beginning of Waid's run and I got to the part where Barry returned in his run. It was pretty funny because at the end of the story arc, at the letters column Waid talked about how crazy it made him that everyone kept asking when Barry was going to return so he finally made the story for them. Of course, technically Barry didn't actually return but it was a pretty cool story.

I'm reading the Emergency Stop trade right now, by the way. It's part of the Grant Morrison/Mark Millar run between the two chunks of Waid's '90s run. It doesn't have "The Human Race" like I thought (that starts in the issue after the last issue contained in Emergency Stop), but it's still pretty good. Man, I miss seeing all the speedsters work together.

I'm planning to make my way to that eventually. Right now I'm at Flash vol 2 #80 and I'm going to work through Waid's run, catch Millar and Morrison's stuff on the way, and then work through Johns' run.

I've got a long way to go but it's pretty good stuff. I like how GL and Flash are kinda tight-nit, especially since GL is my 2nd favorite DC character. Are Wally and Kyle tight like Hal and Barry used to be?

Now, yes. At first, no. They were very adversarial but it ultimately broke down into a friendly rivalry.

In a different way....they became close because they both had predecessors who cast a pretty big shadow....Wally took it upon himself to reach out to Kyle when he became the GL

at first in JLA wally regarded kyle as a newb who wasnt worthy of hals mantle... but as time went by they grew to respect each other and even became close friends...

I'm no expert on either but at this point I really do like Kyle/Wally better than Hal/Barry. Hal and Barry are too old fashioned and uptight. I much prefer the characters that aren't so serious all the time.

Hal's too busy fearlessly punching people in the face to have a sense of humor.

Actually, if you want to see a good take on Hal and Barry, I recommend The Flash & Green Lantern: The Brave and the Bold TPB. That made me like both of them, plus there's some good Alan/Jay stuff in there as well.

John/Wally from JLU is my favorite teamup...Hal/Barry and Kyle/Wally feel like Too similar when they team up, IMO

I'd be down for that if it featured all six of the main GLs and Flashes. If it were just gonna be a Barry/Hal book, I'd pass.

It would be a sweet way to incorporate Wally as a main character in a book though.

I doubt we'll see that, though. If Wally does have a book after Rebirth is done, it'll most likely be a team book like Titans or Franklin Richards' suggested all-speedsters book. Two books that follow one central Flash each would confuse the plebs.

It sounds like a nice mini-series, but I don't think it would make sense as an ongoing. What, are the Flashes and GLs just gonna be joined at the hip all the time?
