ryan is a solid actor but we are likely never going to see him do a comic book movie. He has stated time and and time again he just not into this type of film making.

What age range do people think Captain Cold should fall into? 30s? 40s? 50s? I really love the idea of him being this grizzled old man, but I could see them skewing younger for the film.

Mid to Late-40s; I think he's always been portrayed as a bit older than Barry. I'm thinking Robert Patrick for him and he's just 51 so he could play that range.

So who here thinks that we are going to have a BARRY ALLEN movie? Who thinks it's going to be a WALLY WEST movie?

Let's say (hypothetically) that they choose someone like Scott Porter for Barry Allen in a Barry Allen-centered origin movie. Porter is not really all that old; he's still in his twenties, so if the filmmakers wanted to add Wally into the film for a younger supporting character, how old would he have to be? Assuming that Porter's in his twenties, wouldn't that make Wally somewhere like 13-15? (I could be totally wrong).

Just curious what you all think...

I am just thinking that it would take like three to four movies for Wally to be old enough to take on the mantle of Flash.

as great as gosling would be. its still doubtful we will ever see him actually do a comic book movie. He has stated many times its not really this type of film to do, and he likes those more artsy/chick flick films.

As for the film i still say they are going to go with barry, do an origin barry film. But i would expect they would have wally be a minor/supporting character in film series. So then if they did want to or say the barry actor wanted to leave they could easily just move on to wally flash. Plus i still say it would be best to start with barry, then doing a merging of barry/wally, or cutting barry out or what not.

As for porter who i really hope does get a chance to test for flash if it does get off the ground. i believe he is actually 30 yrs old presently, though he does look much younger. For me i would start off with an origin barry to be like 27-29yrs old(with iris around the same age). I do know barry was what 24ish in the comics. but i would up it just a few yrs. Then as for wally i would drop the whole kid flash deal for him. i would put in at first film around 17-19 yrs old. So barry would still be at least ten yrs older so he would be a bit more mature and all that. Then wally if they say make him flash by third film he could ultimately be like 24 yrs old ish character wise if its a few yrs between each film.

it depends on how DC wants to handle it.

Most likely, Barry will be featured as The Flash since he is main Flash in the comics now. Unless something happens in the future where they go back to Wally, it's Barry.

With the movies, I can see Wally taking over the mantle, but not until later on. And I can't see them killing off Barry. It's like I can't see WB destroying Coast City and making Hal Jordan Parallax. It's gonna be Green Lantern post-Rebirth Hal; streamlining, if you will.

If all else, I can see Wally and Barry co-existing as The Flash in the film series.

If they wanted to push it a little up to early 50s, I think Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad could be a wacky left-field choice to play Captain Cold that just might work.

How do you guys think the costume will be designed? Do you think the filmmakers will model it closely to the comics or do you think they will take some creative liberties and totally redesign it for the movie?

With The Flash, I can bet it'll be The Incredibles in tone, but in live-action. So, it's more along the lines of Spider-Man and with that in mind, I think the costume will remain pretty much the same. The comics has always been colorful and proud of being somewhat 'goofy'. Heck, in The Flash #1, Barry Allen's boss tells him how Central City has all of the 'super villain' rejects like Captain Cold and the rest of the Rogues.

There's a self awareness with the property that tells me that The Flash that we know will look pretty much the same in the film.

i would go the route of fantastic four or spider-man type of material and look for costume. That would be the best way i would say to make his costume.

I still happen to think that Ryan Kwanten would make a great Wally.

I just hope whoever they get, can hanndle the character well.
I also really want them to be able to get the character down.
I don't want them to mess him up, I'll be so angry if they do

well i think with johns and that other writer who been working on a script will the character traits right. along with who ever is cast and ultimately directing it will also help shape things out. i just hope we do get to find out soon indeed if flash is next up or not.

Ryan Gosling would be great as Barry Allen or Wally West Flash!

I also wouldn't mind Scott Porter.
