The Flash seems to be taking a page from GHOST RIDER.

Or vice versa.

Here's an interesting casting choice for a character besides The Flash himself I thought of:

Jackie Earle Haley as Murmur! It would just be a perfect match.

Sorry... Didn't realize the other pic was so big.

It's one the Flash's villains. Serial killer, which would fit the whole "psychological thriller" theme.

^ Who's Murmur?

Dr. Michael Amar, a once respected surgeon, succumbed to madness and started a killing spree to stop the voices inside his head. This spree went through Central City and Keystone City and caught the eye of police officers Fred Chyre and Joe Jackam. They later tracked Amar down with the help from Central City forensic scientist, Barry Allen. Part of Amar's psychosis is the inability to stop himself from blurting out his crimes. Because of these outbursts, he is quickly convicted and sentenced to death.

It is soon discovered that Amar's blood is so abnormal that lethal injection can not kill him. While incarcerated in Iron Heights prison, Amar cuts out his own tongue and sews his mouth shut so he will no longer be able to incriminate himself. Wearing a thin mask of his own design, Amar becomes known as Murmur.

While in prison, Murmur creates a virus called "Frenesi" that kills the guards and prisoners and escapes during the riots it causes. The virus infects its victims' bloodstream, liquifying their internal organs until they die chocked on their own blood and melted insides.

Thanks for the info, but he seems more like a Batman villain than a Flash one.

well what he seems like and what he is are different from your expectations then. I do relive that The Flash has the best Rogues Gallery in DC with Batman coming in second.

The Flash's Rogues, to me, are a tad gimmicky, which to me, makes them less interesting than Batman's rogues, who are also gimmicky, but have some interesting psychological things going on. What makes the Flash's Rogues interesting is their odd kinship and family scenarios.

Murmur seems to be more of the same. Kind of a combination of Mr. Zsasz and The Scarecrow. He is mentioned in the abandoned JLA movie script.

I think a lot of people would rather see the more classic Rogues. For all intents and purposes, their methods could be seen as serial killing, too, and wouldn't have to be limited to that.

And I'd expect to see the classic Rogues and Professor Zoom in some fashion in a Flash movie.

One of the things about Flash's rogues is that Barry's a cop but these are the cases that interest him. He investigates crime across the board but as the Flash he's drawn to a certain type of crime and to me it speaks volumes about his own fun loving personality.

Murmur could work but NOT BY HIMSELF of course. He would get whooped within a nano-second.

Hey guys, here's a teaser poster I made with Ryan Gosling as Barry Allen. Happy New Year!

Personally, as far as villains are concerned, I'd go for a Captain Cold/Mirror Master/Weather Wizard triage myself.

Probably the best way to go is the rouges since Zoom would be better fit for a sequel.

The easiest way to introduce the rouges is have them introduce them as already established BEFORE Barry becomes the Flash and perhaps a montage of them being beaten by flash individually (but escaping) after which they would join up to defeat him.

The toughest thing with the rouges is you want them all to be fully rounded three dimensional characters but you don't want the movie to feel overcrowded and turn into an X Men/spider-man 3 situation though I imagine with a skilled writer this can be accomplished.
The lineup should 100% include:
Mirror Master
Captain Cold
Weather Wizard

If anymore can be added successfully then that's fine but these three at least need to make an appearance.
For a second film Zoom should be the villain
Not too sure who would be a villain in the third film. Grodd while an important flash villain might not fly with the general public.

This is who I would cast:

The Flash/Barry Allen: Neil Patrick Harris
Irish Allen: Zooey Deschanel
Professor Zoom: Bradly Cooper
Jay Garrick: John Wesley Shipp

Note: I wouldn't make a Jay Garrick one of The Flashes but I would put him as a family friend who raised Barry after his father went to jail and his mom was murdered. It would be more of a tip of the hat to the TV series than anything else.

Out of all the popular rouges, Zoom is the only one that makes sense. He's the only one fast enough to be a worthy opponent. I have an idea, how about Savitar, the corrupt Master of Speed?

Barry is a forensic scientist. Every villain doesn't have to be a physical battle. Plus, how would Weather Wizard NOT be a challenge for Barry?

any of the classic rouges are fine by me, i'd rather not see any of the newer "rouges" though
