i dont know the wanted director's but he sounds interesting and would probably bring in some good visual styles to shoot flash spending around.

yea i could see him as either too. only have seen a few epiodes of his show but he seems like a great guy and since the show is done in offseason pattern he could easily film between his series if he was picked for flash role.

Even though miller's jla did fall to happen, i would so love if any designs/costume pics ever got leaked out because some of the confirmed cast members have came out saying they did have costumes set and they were getting fitted for them before the film got canned.

How about Chad Michael Murray as Barry Allen and Zoe Kazan as Iris West

Niiiice pick for Barry, my man. He looks similar to him and is the right age (if they were doing an older Barry and Hal I'd say Patrick Wilson for Barry if he weren't already Nite Owl and Nathan fillon for Hal). How's his acting? :)

I haven't read all the posts. But I would Want Wally West or Bart Allen because they a funny. it can be the end of the world and the would be cracking a joke. I would love to see it. My only experice with Barry Alien is in Justice League New Fronter and Barry wasn't funny at all, he was way to focused and serious for me. I just like Wally from JLA and JLU cartoons better.

Dammit! Why do you guys always do this? Take it from me, a HUGE Barry Allen fan, Barry is funny, but he isn't an idiot. He's a smart ass, Wally and Bart are dumbasses (no offense meant to them). Bart and to an extent Wally were funny because they gave the impression that they were stupid, Barry was funny because he made you feel stupid. Barry was good in the New Frontier movie, I thought he was funny without being over the top like the JLU Flash, he had his moments, but if you really want a good handle on Barry's character, I strongly suggest you read the actual book, DC: The New Frontier. In it, Barry is funny, charming, smart, and, IMO, very cool. The coolest thing anyone's done with Flash to date. Exactly how he should be portrayed on film. And they didn't even get into the BIG things that make Barry so great (the CSI job, him creating the suit/discovering his abilities, his chronic lateness/being slow for everything, his origin, etc). That said, Wally in the comics isn't the buffoon he was displayed as in the JL/JLU show. He's actully quite sensible. Bart is more like the JLU Flash than anyone else (the JL/JLU Flash is a hybrid of 3 Flashes: the creators used Bart's personality because he was the most "adolescent like/immature" and the studio wanted a character that young kids could relate too as opposed to having just a group of 7 adults (matter of fact, they were originally going to use Impulse and gip out on Flash, but came to the conclusion that no JLA is complete without The Flash and used him instead, thanfully), he has Wally's identity/name and likeness (red hair, green eyes) because he was the Flash in the comics at the time and they were using a GL who wasn't Hal Jordan, and last but not least, the JL/JLU Flash has Barry Allen's story because it's the most sensible and easy to adapt into alternate media (the origin, forensics job, you don't have to know some other character in order to get into Barry's story, he's self contained, whereas Wally and Bart's stories are very much dependant on Barry, in Bart's case both Wally and Barry, there's too much continuity that would need to be explained and made sense of in order to do Wally or Bart's story).

it can be the end of the world and the would be cracking a joke.

For that specific scenario, watch the end of the animated New Frontier where Barry's being held by MM and WW, watching The Centre ascend into the sky in which Barry does that exact thing.

I think they'll use Barry Allen for several reasons:

. He's comming back in 2009.

. Geoff Johns might write the script, and he's a Barry fan.

. He's easier to "explain" than Wally or Bart, who's great part of their characterization is the fact they live under Barry Allen's shadow.

. He's better reconized by the audience because of the "The Flash" series with John Wesley Shipp.

And, i'm the comics, Barry is actually lightheart and funny. He's only more sarcastic and less wisecracking than Wally (That is actually serious and focused in the comics. They gave him Bart's personality on JLU.) or Bart. In Justice League: The new Frontier, he only appeared three times, and always in a tense situation:

In the first, his fiancée was in danger and he was really pissed of about that.

In the second, he did a quirky remark ("What's the matter, Grodd? Feeling a little starve for attention"?), but he was quickly attacked and was about to the held hostage by his own government.

In the third, the whole world was a few hours away from Doomsday by the hands of the Center.

In the comics, he's more light-hearted, but he does get's serious when he goes to action, but they can change that in a movie, so he's more "funny".

Dude, I like you. :-D I could not have said this better myself. You covered all the bases, my man. :-)

And I see someone added the poll to this thread. Very nice. :-)

Barry FTW! :D

I'd go with Ryan Gosling young enough to do alot of movies, and he isn't annoying like the other actors you listed.

Chad is a pretty decent young actor and i think he could pull off the role well but he isnt the only person who could make a decent barry or even wally. Their is tons of talented actors who could fit the bill.

Question: Why has my Flash thread been closed and edited? It was here, in the DC films thread first (this thread was originally posted in the "Justice League" movie thread before being merged), and it had a much more informative opening page on all The Flashes (before it was edited anyway) that I had worked really hard on. So, mods, could you please shed some light on this (why it was done, etc)???

i think Wally West is better recognized by the audience because of Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.

Just to add another name to be a contender, would Jason Dohring be a decent choice? I be thinkin so. And three choices I like for Barry:

Gabriel Macht
Alan Tudyk
Mark Paul Gosselaar

but better suited...for the Question...but I felt like contributing more...to this thread...

wally may be known by the younger generation due to jl/jlu but barry i believe has the bigger fan base out there. And like others have pointed out since bart is gone and wally isnt going to be the flash any more with barry returning from the dead. Dc is likely going to want the current flash be in the film if it can ever get off the ground to capitalize on it you know.

Barry's fan base is restricted to comic book fans.

Wally West's fan base is restricted to Cartoon fans.

I know which one I bet is bigger.

All the merchandise has the Wally Flash, I'm about 99.9% sure.
