Dude it got even worse after we all left. Like i played with a few guys until late last night and we never won a match. Even our best guys were going negative. It was as if no one but MLG dudes were on. It was almost comical.

It's really strange because I went negative in nearly every game we played in that session, but I'd been playing all day before that and was doing really well (apart from one game where I got destroyed..something like 0 and 8, the other team got almost no deaths between them in the entire game and the game was over in about 4 minutes haha).

I see a lot more skilled players on this than on Gears 3. The balance between casuals, crap players, average, good and great players was pretty even on 3 but here it feels like 60% of players are at least very good and likely MVP candidates and there is usually a max of 1 below average player in a game.

Yea ill prob play later tonight, but damn, I'm swamped with games(which is an awesome problem to have). I'm playing this, MGS, Mad Max and I just downloaded Warframe on the X1.

It's funny, even though I feel like I'm a below average player on this game at the moment, I seem to get doubles and triples all the time. Triples get automatically uploaded on to xbox.com and it's really fun rewatching them. Also got 2 quads last night! Will have to figure out this one drive stuff but they're viewable by friends on xbox.com. Wish I'd thought about using the DVR before on some of my doubles as they would probably be better clips.

Ive enjoyed how they've weaved the stories through the games, from Doms wife (in the first Gears he just says hes looking for somebody) Operation Lifeboat, Marcus' dad, General Hoffman gettin' some

Yeah will be interesting. It's going to be new characters and I've enjoyed when they've done that like in the RAAM's shadow DLC.

I remember after Gears 2 came out, I was lurking on another forum and there was this poster who insisted the series should go to space and the Locust came from Seras moon and it could become this grand space opera

Haha, well I wouldn't mind seeing enemies from another planet. Not sure where the new enemies are going to originate from. Can't all be lurking beneath the surface or it would have been quite packed down there!

well, one of the unanswered questions from Gears 2 or 3 was that facility they found, it doesn't spell it out but there were experiments on the Locust or they originated from genetic experiments..it was left kind of ambiguous

looking at the new gameplay footage, it seems like there is some sort of experimentation still happening

remember Sera is a pretty big planet, and we haven't seen a lot of it

Maybe. Although these conflicts in the last few games plus the history and gaps filled in by books and comics have been big enough that they should have flushed out these races. The locust were emerging all over the planet. Could be a bit strange that aggressive races were completely hidden and silent while all this was happening. Will be fun to find out though.

They did an update to the shotgun recently which made it more consistent. Still not perfect but better than it was. Had some really fun games recently with well balanced teams.

Not much revealed except the new characters names and the game going back to the mystery vibe of the first game. Fergusson mentioned this is a new beginning and teased that maybe they're pulling a Star Wars thing, That's interesting and could make sense to have the new game take place many years after Gears 3

Did some online modes get removed recently? I went to Versus in competitive play and only Excecution and Blitz are available. I think one or two is also missing in social matchmaking.

Yes. I see the same. Been playing a lot of Blitz which I kind of like.
