The Official GHOSTBUSTERS Thread

Best of luck. I'm trying to get all my Achievements on Fallout 3, I'm almost there :wow:. Ghostbusters will definitely be the second game I aim for.

Im close on like 3 games. Call of Duty 2, Resident Evil 5 and Wolverine are only like 2 or 3 achievements away from being complete. I never actively try to get all achievements, usually whatever achievements i get in my play throughs is all ill earn, but that started to change with RE5. Iv been trying to get all of those and im certain im going to get all of em for Ghostbusters. I plan on living on Ghostbusters from the time it drops to the next big game im looking forward to.

Came across some screens i haven't seen before. Shows some of the interior of the Fire House and a certain painting:

"He is Vigo! You are like the buzzing of flies to him!" But wasn't that painting changed to the picture of the four GB's in togas, after they defeated him? Hmmm, wonder if it has something to do with the story...

Yea, thats what im thinking. Maybe the painting reverted back to its original form once the disastor hits.

On a side note, and this is me being a bit picky, but the ONLY thing i can harp on with all the screens iv seen and all the previews iv read is that, according to some of these pics it appears that when you walk around the fire house, you are in full gear. I think if u are just wondering around HQ, you should just be wearing a jumpsuit. I could be wrong on this, i mean all iv seen are a few select screen caps.

I think i saw a screen with the rookie wearing a blue shirt and khakis. I think... pretty sure I saw something where he was in regular clothes. Could be a scene before he gets hired. I'm about 80% sure I saw something like that.

But I agree, he shouldn't have a pack on while walking around the firehouse. Going down the pole with a proton pack could be dangerous.

Haha definitely. Maybe there is an option to equip the pack and test some of the functions or something. Doesnt matter too much tho, its not gonna make me love this game any less. Bring on the 16th!

Just finished watching the live show over at 1UP. They played the first level of the game ending with the battle against Stay Puft. Every thing looks fantastic and just reaffirms that im soooo ready for this game.

Oh, i think i found the answer to why the rookie is walking around the fire house with his proton pack on. It appears as tho you start each mission at the fire house and are given free roam then, but you dont walk around the fire house to get your missions and the like, at least thats what the guys playing stated, but even then they werent completely sure. Guess we'll find out come June 16th!

I really enjoyed the live stream, it actually calmed my only real worry about the game. I was kind of thinking it may end up getting repetitive, but I didn't get that impression at all.

Also, when the question came up after the price difference between the Wii and PS3/360 versions, he was mistaken. The Wii version will be $39.99, not $49.99

Yea i dont think ill be feeling any repetitiveness with this game. Iv been wanting to use a Proton Pack for faaarrr too long. Everything looks great.

In case ya missed the live feed, heres a recorded version of the feed from last night.

I would say this contains light spoilers as there is some stuff we havent seen before, and some dialog we havent heard before. It shows basically the middle of the first stage ending with the Stay Puft battle that we have seen. The video skips over the first few cutscenes tho, so there are no spoilers about the rookie or anything like that. They also briefly show how walking around the firehouse works, at least how it works in the start of the game(there was some debate as to if this would change any the further into the game you get.)

I just reserved the game for PS3, and I guess Gamestop is offering a free t-shirt, and updated in game "flight suit" for the characters. Looks great, can't wait to play it.

Yea, the flight suit is the grey suit from Ghostbusters II. I deff think ill be rocking that suit.

I'm picking up the Wii version, too and that is awesome. Too awesome. Is that real?

Haha, I might pick that up even without the Wii version. :D

No telling, but i really want that, but id take the proton pack as well.

haha deff. I used to have this little blue plastic proton pack, but it must have been lost when my family moved, no telling where that thing is now.

Yeah, I had that. I had the trap too, as well as a couple of other Ghostbusters "guns". :)

I used to run around the house "busting" our pets. Much to their chagrin, I'm sure. :D

Haha, same here man. Had the trap, the PKE, the Slime Blower and then that thing that Venkman had when he first went to check out Dana's apartment. Id also get my mom to light, then blow out a few matches and then stick em in the trap so itd look like my trap was smoking. Haha great times. This game is gonna take me back there.

While I am a definite GB fan from way back, I will still wait on reviews. My nostalgia or love for a certain character has suckered me in to things before which I have later regretted. Game looks sweet but I really want to make sure it IS sweet before i buy.
