His oldman and hardy and heath are some of the few I'd celebrate as left field great choices. it kinda stops there.

noting tops haley imo

I disagree but this is not the right forum for that.

Everytime a poster says that Thor was a good movie my head explodes. To each his/her own though.

Anyway, Hal's Daddy issues were handled terribly.

Your right Thor wasn’t a good movie.............it was a freaking awesome movie (That’s right awesome). GL doesn’t even come close to how good Thor was and I urge people to take caution to the words of any that claim otherwise. No disrespect to you or anyone else like you said to each his own.

Well, in all fairness, everyone praises "The Dark Knight," and no one has bigger Daddy issues than Batman.

For godsake with the false equivalencies. Again, it's not what happens, but how it happens. Context and execution. One movie works for some, and the other doesn't. This really isn't complicated.

I take it you haven't seen Batman & Robin, Catwoman, and Steel then.

No, I have. I've chosen to erase those from my memory.

X3, Spider-Man 3, and Wolverine all made a ton of money and are considered to be the most profitable of their respective trilogies (except Wolverine). They were all garbage, and made recently.

Thanks for clearing that up. How about this, it's an OPINION. I like the way Reynold's played Jordan. The character wasn't without it's faults in the movie, but I'd say it's one of the stronger points. No amount of ranting or raving is going to change that for me. Get over it.

Hey, I'm the one telling other people to stop trying to back others into corners with ridiculous crap like "well if you liked Batman's daddy issues, why not Hal's?" Because people's opinion are going to differ from movie to movie! Because it's all opinion and that kind of argument is a baseless false equivalence! Jesus Christ. I'm not even remotely telling people what to think. I'm arguing the exact opposite.

I don't blame Hal for keeping the ring. heck, he's a human who just had first contact with a highly developed alien species. That ring is the most valuable thing on the planet right now and who knows how much mankind could benefit from it. Or could destroy itself with it but whatever. Let's be positive. :p

I blame the Corps and the Guardians for LETTING him keep the ****ing thing, unless that's exactly what they wanted.

Well he did leave his lantern back on Earth. And without the ring, how else was he gonna get home from the other side of the universe? :hehe:

Not sure, but I don't remember Wayne/Batman (or the movie) mentioning his father even once in TDK.

The ring could've just dropped his flaky ass off and then left to find a more willing recipient, but that wouldn't have been convenient for the plot.

Did anyone else get a Fantastic Four vibe from this? Like how it was supposed to be epic/big wise?

Did he even have daddy issues in begins? I thought the overall theme was in relation to his parents as opposed to daddy.

He didn't. He got over those issues in the first movie. That was the whole arc of the first movie.

Isn't it more of a Rise of the Silver Surfer vibe though? I can't really remember much of how Fantastic Four was advertised, nor was I really into Fantastic Four comics like I am into Green Lantern comics. But I distinctly remember being very psyched about that first Rise of the Silver Surfer trailer with the Surfer and Johnny, and then being horribly disappointed by the movie itself.

To those who have seen the film: How would I be better served with my time tonight? Go watch the GL film, or stay home and play with my weiner? I feel that both will be a let down, no matter how much I'm hyped up for it since critics have trashed both.

He didn't have daddy issues but he did seem to only care that his father had been killed. Thats something that always bothered me. I know boys are closer to their father's than their mothers but I just felt that his mom got the complete shaft in BB.

Yeah, that's what I meant, the Rise of the Silver Surfer, and I'm glad you pointed it out. The thing I hate about movies such as GL and that film, is that, a threat came to end Earth, and while watching it, I felt nothing, no impact, just chill, and therefore the threat was extremely weak.

Whichever you choose...stay off the internet, 'kay?

;)

Parallax in this movie was similar to storm cloud Galactus in FF2, except Parallax had a head and could talk.
