I dont really care for these details. It was still in the performance, the plane crashed, he didnt look scared, he transmitted a sense calmness.Green Lantern 101 knowledge coming at ya:
Marin Jordan died while steering his crashing plane away from Ferris airfield, saving the lives of the people who were watching the test flight (including his son). In Geoff Johns' retcon he even adds that the plane could also have gone down over Coast City. Martin CHOSE to go down with the plane to save innocent lives, and THIS is where Hal Jordan for the first time in his life realizes with his own two eyes what being fearless means.
Again, why would they change that in the film when it is integral to Hal Jordan's character?
