Been a fan favorite on the internet for the past few years. While his Hollywood films haven't completely won me over (though i enjoyed Pacific Rim and Crimson Peak), Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth were amazing.

Big fan, loved Blade II, both Hellboy movies and Pacific Rim, sadly it seems the latter won't be getting a sequel. Of course I also loved Pans Labyrinth.

And of course, as you can tell by my avatar, the Strain.

Blade II is my favourite but Pan's Labyrinth is his best.

I love del Toro, I can listen to him for hours, but as a filmmaker, I think he is over-rated. I like some of his films but none of them blew me away. YMMV...

Blade II. It's my favourite, obviously not his best. But it hits all my buttons.

Just one request, can we not start playing his career managers in this thread? He's a selective film maker, but his filmography is better than most.

My personal favorite is the first Hellboy. Del Toro is something of an overrated filmmaker, his career over the last ten years since Pan's has been a disappointment.

I'd recommend The Strain trilogy novels too. Much better told than the show. I hope he writes a few more books.

I've yet to see Devil's Backbone and Blade II but I really want to. I absolutely adore Pan's Labyrinth and makes me lament what could have been with The Hobbit.

The Blade II Blu Ray has TWO Guillermo Del Toro commentaries. The latter one was recorded around 2012 or so and talks about historical vampire literature from the 1600's. There's some really great **** for you to chew on on that Blu.

Blade 2 is the film that made me a GDT fan. My brother wanted to see it, so my mother dragged me a long. My mother and brother wanted to leave the theater like 30mins because of the gore, but I was totally into it so I wouldn't leave. I have enjoyed all his films, with Pan's being his best, and Pacific Rim being my favorite. I all really love Hellboy 2.

I WANT MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS DEL TORO!!!!!!!! :argh::argh:

Desperately.

I love Blade, I love it. But I'm one of the few that dug the second. And it was only after a couple years that I learned it was del Toro.

The Hellboy movies feel like his Batman and Batman Returns for Burton. Heh. Love those to pieces.

Pan's Labyrinth is one of the most beautiful, adult fairytales I've ever experienced. It's his best. First foreign film I saw in theatres.

Mimic was fun and I'm not too big on creature features. I have a couple that I like under my belt, like Jaws and Gremlins, and so I include this amongst that short list.

Who knew he liked giant, fighting robots and kaiju fun? Pacific Rim was pretty cool. Which surprised me, because I hated the first Transformers and so I assumed a lot of the robot movies coming out would be like them. And sometimes I'm not wrong, but Pacific Rim was pretty fun. I'm iffy on his want of a sequel, though, I will say that. I'd rather him complete the story of Hellboy with a third film. Hellboy: Heaven and Hell? I heard Perlman mentioning his ideas of having the hellish looking twin be the good one and the angelic looking one to be evil. Makes sense.

I need to see Cronos and Devil's Backbone. Desperately with the latter. I'm not big ghost fans but Don't Be Afraid of the Dark and Crimson Peak are movies I'd give a try, just like Devil's Backbone.

Blade II made me take notice of Del Toro. I've been looking forward to every following movie/project of his since. However I still need to check out Cronos, The Devil's Backbone, and Crimson Peak.

I haven't seen all of these, but Pan's was such an amazing tale.

Out of all his films, Cronos, Mimic and Hellboy 1 are the only ones i didn't enjoy much. The first one felt like it could have been amazing if done by a more experienced Del Toro, Mimic felt like a drag to me and Hellboy 1 seemed like it had too much input from the studio, with a bland cinematography, a pointless romantic trio and a boring character to introduce us into this world. Hellboy II also had some cheesy moments i didn't like much, but on the whole, i found it a much more interesting film, capturing the fairy tale aspect it was trying to much better than the first film did with the dark pulp of the comics.

For those who haven't seen Devil's Backbones, Crimson Peak had many paralels with it.
