The Official "If I Wanted To Sell My Comics..." Question Thread

It's not popular here, but on alot of other boards, there are alot of TRADE threads setup where posters simply do just that.

If I were you,I would just give up my recent stuff to my local shop for some store credit.I did that a while back when I had a whole mess of stuff.
Thank you btw. I'd just have to find a shop that does it.

If you really want to make any money off of your comics you need to sit on them for decades, unless like Peck said, I'm referring to Elijya here. They are rare and in high demand.

I can help you out with the Ebay thing if you really need it, but if you are going that route be prepaired to get less than what it is worth.

Ok. when you say decades, how many?

Is there a website that has a list on how much comics are worth?Because i recently came into a mint copy of Ultimate Spider-Man #1.

check what it's been selling for on ebay

and it's not mint, it's nearmint. "mint" is a condition so ideal, only qualified appraisers with lots of experiences can really make that determination

What are all the kind of conditions a comic could be in? Also, would anything from the 70's or 60's be worth anything? no?

Well just to let you know,my shop has full runs of books like Hulk,DD,FF from the 70s,etc in the bargain basement for 2 bucks a pop and they're all in NM shape.

If you're going into comics to make money, you're not going to make a profit.Unless you're eating up key books from 40 to 50 years ago, don't expect to make alot of money.

Well it really depends. If you have comics from the mid 90's, say like 92-96ish then they pretty much are never going to be worth crap if they are from Marvel or DC. Depending on the comic.

As for waiting like Peck said how rare and high the demand is for them. But just normal old comics if you didn't/don't collect rare, indy or un common comic books. You will probably have to wait at least 10 years to see a minimal profit, very minimal. To see a modest one 10-30 years and to see a substantial one, hundreds or thousands of dollars profit. You will either have to wait 50+ years or have something fairly uncommon.

Expect to sell your comics on ebay for at least half of their going rate or even less.

make that more like 1975-2000, with the exception of a couple Spider-Man and X-Men issues, and underground/underappreciated titles like TMNT #1 or Sandman #1
