The Official Stupid "Random Comics" Question Thread

How are the Star wars omnibus books quality wise? Can They withstand heavy reading?

okay, quick important question:

A girl I know is going to a costume party and the theme is heroes/villains.

She's got metallic purple tights she can wear. Anyone know a female hero/villain that wears purple tights?

Please answer quick because the party's in a week. Thanks!

Hit Girl...?

Keep in mind everybody that that post is like 2 years old. :o

Haha, totally didn't check that. Oh well.

How are the Star wars omnibus books quality wise? Can They withstand heavy reading?
I've got the two Tales of the Jedi omnibi and they seem as sturdy as any other trade paperback I've owned. No problems with the glue losing its adhesion or anything, and I bent the spine quite a bit scanning stuff from it.

Irredeemable, finished reading up to #28. Neat book. It's good to see someone can write a Superman expy gone nuts without him turning into the big ball of suck that is the Sentry. My question is anyone know where they're going with the story because it just seems to keep turning back in on itself?

How did the Luna Bros SWORD end?

I had to stop buying comics regularly before it ended. I left off where she had just fought that water dude.

Just recently read The Traveler first issue and i'm stuck 50/50 on whether I should get the next issue or stop, didn't love it didn't hate it...should I or shouldn't I?

This thread hasn't been used in a while so I hope someone sees this.

I was a bit put off Hellboy because it was mainly stand-alone short stories, but i'm intending to get back into it. Is B.P.R.D the same or is that an actual ongoing story?

Dont know if this the right place for this question. I recently wanted to take better care of some of my more valuable modern Variant covers and purchased some current sized Mylar sleeves. But those sob's are a tight fit and Im worrying about damaging the comic. Would getting silver age size be a better idea or is there a better alternative then mylar? The ones I used are current size bce 4 mil.

Kind of a weird question: Does anyone know if there's some kind of feud going on between the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' co-creators, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird? I ask because I've only ever seen one of them work with the Turtles at a time; Laird was handling them by himself all through the '00s with the 2003 cartoon, Flash Forward, and Back to the Sewer, and now only Eastman is working on the current IDW comic series. Did they have a falling-out sometime and agree to just keep to themselves or something?

Eastman f**ked Laird's wife.....at least that's what I like to think happened. :o

That's what you think happened to everyone. Whether they have wives or not.

well Hell-boy appears mainly in flashback in the BPRD series and the first series of BPRD is set some time after he leaves the company.

Let's say this rumor is true, but Eastman is married to that D-list celeb Julie Strain, why would he fool around behind her?

Because of that age old adage.

"Show me a beautiful woman and I'll show you a man who is tired of f**king her." :o

Actually, Eastman wanted to move on to other things like Tundra Publishing and Heavy Metal, and films, so Laird bought out Eastman's share of the TMNT Franchise, but Eastman was still suppose to get a certain percent of the profits. Then eventually, Laird bought him out completely, and dedicated his career to doing turtles until 2009, when he decided he was tired of them and wanted to move on, so he sold the property to Nick, which made a deal that allowed Mirage to still publish a limited amount of TMNT books a year, but the main titles would be published by IDW/NICK. Eastman got back on board as cover artist/ plotter, but he doesn't have the rights like before.

I have a question,

Spider-Ham aka Peter Porker exists in a marvel universe populated with cartoon animals. Steve Gerber said that Howard the Duck also comes from a universe with cartoon animals ( although the HTD magazine and Movie states that he comes from Duck World, a world populated with anthromorphic ducks, but Gerber denies this origin). So, is Howard from the same world as Peter Porker ?

So would that be Duckworld ? Because Steve Gerber dismissed that origin and said it was too sci/fi and typical. Does Marvel has multiple worlds with cartoon animals ? One world where Spider-Ham exist, and another where Howard the Duck originated ?

Apparently.

And they aren't worlds so much as they are Alternate Realities. Part of the Marvel Multiverse. I'm sure there's a world made up of nothing but Horses or talking chairs. It's a Multiverse.

Also this should be in the Marvel version of this thread.

Random question. Anyone know when Masks comes out? I'm already seeing ads for issue 2 but never saw issue 1 on shelves...

hm, does anyone here have any opinions about City of Heroes and The Statesman?

I got the game when I was a kid, way back, as a christmas gift from someone who obviously didn't know it was an MMO. I never managed to pplay it, but I read the comics and watched the trailers that came with it. Most memorable was the blatant Superman/Captain America rip-off "The Statesman", but I liked him, being a kid at the time.

That being a long time ago, I guess the only superheroes I was familiar with at the time, were Supes, Bats and Spidey, so I did discover him before Captain America..

But yeah, was the comics the game spawned any good? I remember liking the ones I read, but like I said, I was a kid at the time, so..
