I just saw the trailer and, in all honesty.......meh
It gives a IM2 vibe, and IM2 was a pile of crap.
For example, this

With all the armors and whatnot, Hulkbuster, Stealth, Silver Sentry... it just doesn't do it for me.
I don't get excited by this all nerd/fanboy wet dream, and i've been reading comics since i was just a small child.
I care more about the man behind the mask than all the explosions in the world.

the trailers also show you that they are going to dive into how tony was affected by the events of the avengers, and the mandarin is supposes to be a complex character...so I don't know why you are focusing on what you consider negatives when it seems like you are going to get a pretty awesome story that you want as well

I'm always pessimist when it comes to comic book movies.
The sad part is, i'm usually right.
I'm usually pretty good at "reading" trailers.
The first one was a lot better.

Of course that i don't know, i'll have to wait for the movie to come out (like everyone else), but it's just a feeling i have.

I guess we'll see

I hope hope hoooope that the final battle scene involves Tony armour-jumping....summoning all of them there and going between certain armours for certain battle circumstances.

This needs to happen. Drone Iron Man armours would be too much like the Drones in Iron Man 2.

I can easily explain why i'm like this

I studied cinema for 3 years, i have a movie made (short).
I love comics.
Combine both and i have a really good idea of how to bring a lot of comic book characters to the silver screen.
I have a "kick ass" Batman trilogy, Spider-Man trilogy, Captain America dualogy, Superman trilogy and Martian Manhunter movie...just to name a few.

Of all comic book movies coming out this year, i like the all idea of Dark Elves in Thor 2 (great idea for a sequel), i like the all focus on Logan's samurai side in The Wolverine (if the movies will be good, that's a question for when the trailers arrive), i'm very curious for The Man of Steel, which will be an Elseworld version of Superman (like TDK trilogy was of Batman) and i'm really excited for Kick Ass 2.

But for example, i don't like anything i've read so far about Captain America 2

I can get behind yor thoughts. I, too, don't get all that excited by nerd/fanboy wet dreams (which is why The Avengers wasn't all that to me), but I think you're underestimating Shane Black's involvement here. I think there's MUCH more than armors in this movie. The interviews and information all point to a character- and story-driven pic. Black, a guy who simply KNOWS what good storytelling is, himself talked about how he wanted to make a thriller first and foremost. I think we're in for a ride - in an emotional and exciting way.

idk how you have the ability to know what a movie is going to be like after 2 trailers of maybe 5 total minutes of screen time. Clearly this story is going to be all about Tony and his personal journey not armor wars. I am by no means a fan boy or movie expert but you're almost just judging a book by it's cover. It's hard to say a movie is going to be a letdown if you haven't seen the movie yet.

What did Shane Black did?
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in 2004...that was 9 years ago.
It was a great movie, don't get me wrong, but....it's one movie.

I'm not saying that the movie is going to be bad, i'm just saying my feeling is that it will not be what many people are expecting.

especially when the armor wars thing was a whole.... 10 seconds of the trailer

so now we have one poster concerned there will be too much action and one concerned there will be too little action. We got our bases covered!

I'm usually good at "reading" trailer, that doesn't mean i get it all time (3 out of 5).

In the same post i said i don't know, will only know for sure when i watch the movie, but, at this point, it's my feeling.

2005.

We're also talking about the writer of Lethal Weapon, The Last Boy Scout and The Long Kiss Goodnight, the last of which is the weakest one he wrote, but still is above the average.

You should look Black up on Google, and especially read interviews. He's an interesting dude, very intelligent, and you get the idea that this man knows what good storytelling is all about.

Don't underestimate him. That's all I'm gonna say. ;)

I just will never understand people who are confident that movies are going to suck before they come out. Do you also think a book will suck by reading the synopsis on the back, or a video game will suck by looking at the back of the case, or that a sports team is going to lose because their record is worse than their opponent? You can't know how something is going to work out until after you've finished said thing; book, game, movie, sporting event.

A trailer means nothing, it drums up interest for the movie by showcasing eye pleasing visuals and character intoduction. Of course they're going to leave out major details and plot points. new shiny things and explosions get new and old fans interested, we here are a small minority of who they are trying to intice. I'd say 99.5% of those on this board are already planning on seeing the movie so they don't need to pander to the fanboys, we're going to see it even if it doesn't meet every need and want we have for the film.

I guess I just don't understand what you mean by "reading" a trailer, I've literally never heard anyone say that before. "read" all you want from the ~6 total minutes you've seen so far I guess.

Also if you've actually delved into reading some of the info that has come out on the story they're taking you'll see that it's about Tony so idk where peoples angst comes from.

in other awesome news, apparently a new thor 2 trailer is bound to hit the first week of April....

I cannot wait for the Thor trailer!.. Thor was my favorite Phase 1 solo movie and with adding Alan Taylor's Game of Thrones style of directing I'm seriously so excited. Thor + GoT = epic

not to mention Game of thrones return on March 31....

Yeah I love Game of Thrones, and I have no idea what's in store for the future episodes because I've never read the books and avoid all possible spoilery information lol.

Mandarin's voice is scary, I trhink it sounds cool. But it doesnt sound copied from anyone.

I love the.. "you'llllllllllll nevERRR seee..me coming

I like that, but I have a feeling that it's not going to sound like that in the movie for some reason. It always seems like lines from trailers are either modified or taken out for some reason.
