Is that just because it's cloth, or something else? I agree that the belt and gloves could stand to be altered and I've been saying for years that DC needs to get rid of the trunks on both Superman and Bats. That said, while I don't hate black armor and I even enjoy it as a unique visual take on the character, I don't think the idea of a cloth based suit should be completely ruled out. If nothing else it could help to further separate this Batman from Nolan's universe.
I like that manip, as I said it would suit a more 1930's time frame, it has a nice 'vintage' look to it. The problem is that it's hard to see a modern looking Batman in anything but an armoured outfit of some description, the guy is human after all, he has no super powers or special abilities therefore fighting crime in nothing but a cloth based suit with no form of body protection what so ever is illogical. An entire cloth based Batman suit in my opinion is not a feasible option in any modern live action interpretation but as I said could work for one set in and around the 1930's.
