I plan to dye my Magnoli tye with a hint of black and green to knock it down a touch. I tried it already with the black but was barely noticeable when the tie had dried.

I knew the T&A tie was weathered, i think i mentioned some time back. It just doesn't have those vibrant minty blue colours when you see it in the flesh or on film.

you're gonna have a tough time dying his tie. the base color of his tie is brown, the only way to go from brown is black. you cant bleach it and redye it (bad juju) so youre gonna be stuck. color dyes dont stick to brown well at all.

Listens up yous Jokahs! I will be sending an e-mail to Lindy Hemming (through her agent, natch) this evening concerning manufacturer details concerning the Joker's shoes. Her rep with United Talent, assures me that she will be able to respond back within 2 weeks (she just recently finished a project and is on vacation in the U.K.) What I am asking is for anyone with questions over materials and designs, to PM me with your questions, so I can send an e-mail out this evening (U.S. Central time). I will be representing all of us through my recently made up e-mail addy [email protected]. If you want to send me questions via that e-mail you can. Please, only costume oriented questions, I will not solicit any makeup info for you since she is not the makeup designer (this goes out to the noobs). Read the previous posts in the forum for valuable makeup tips.

Oh man...OH man.....Uhhhh......I........Uhhhhh.......

I'm probably not gonna do a wig THIS year, just gonna go for the short scraggly look with the hair. I don't wanna cheat with the green hairspray though, anyone know what I can use to get that kelp color ledger had in the movie?

lol, I would only ask about the shoes but I'm sure you'll have that covered Body!

Sent you a PM as well. I asked the following questions, can't think of anything else right now. Pretty much some things I've wondered, or things we've argued about recently, LOL!

The stiching around the edges of the coat seems to be only visible in some images. Was this type of stiching used on all parts of the coat, or only parts? Some images it appears to be around the lapels and pockets, some other not at all. That type of stiching we know is very hard to see, and I'm deffintly curious to know if it was all around the edges, or only on certain parts of the suit.

Although it may have been up to the prop dept., but what methods were used to weather the clothing, and were all items weathered? (We know most of the items were, but I'm essentialy curious about the tie. There's some debate on if it was or not.)

Again, although perhaps up to the prop dept., do you know color the chain that was attached to one of the Joker knives was? Conflicting images of silver, gold, and bronze have been taken, so confirmation on a color would deffintly be appreciated.

Do you know what scource you used for the Joker's coat buttons? Or what size they were, etc? No one has been able to match them, and we'd deffintly appreciate some help in the button help department.

What color were the suspenders used on the suit? We see that they are a dark color, and have pretty large evidence that they were the black/green braces. However some people beleive they were white/green. We beleive the dark color is distorted by the studio lights, and that they make the braces look white.

On the Police honor gaurd uniform that the Joker wears, what did the name tag say? One of the other nametags read "Officer Rachel Dawes", did the Joker's likewise read the same, or was it diffrent?

On the Joker's nurse uniform; we have a screencap of the nametag, and it appears to read Nurse Hemming. (Very catchy!) Can you confirm this? As again, there are conflicting reports; even from on-set that there was a tag that said "Nurse Matilda" used on that costume. The image we have appears to say Hemming. Were two tags used, or was there just the one Hemming tag?

Ok after filtering your responses (because the details alot of you were asking for made for a HUGE letter), I whittled it down. Now don't get angry, she is a busy person and I wanted to respect her time and efforts. Below is the e-mail questions I related through her agent.

* For the purple top coat, the stitching around the edges of the coat (sleeves, lapels etc..) seems to be only visible in some images. Was there a type of top stitching used on all parts of the coat, or only parts? Some images it appears to be around the lapels and pockets, some other not at all. That type of stitching we know is very hard to see, and I'm curious to know if it was all around the edges, or only on certain parts of the suit. For the dirty weathered look of the top coat (and entire outfit for that matter) what was the "weathering" technique used. On the back of the overcoat, underneath where the lapels wrap around the neck, what is that checkerboard pattern? Lastly for the coat, what was the material blend used

*For the vest, what was the material blend used and did the vest have a satin liner similar to the top coat and sport coat? Was the second button on the vest intentionally left missing or was it just unbuttoned? Another issue we were wondering was if there was any top stitching used on the vest as well.

*For the tie, we are aware that the it was manufactured by Turnbull and Asser. the main question regarding this piece is, was the color of the tie altered in any way? We are aware of the color being altered due to the types of filters and lights used in production.

*For the sport coat, was it a gray or blueish gray? Another question is what was the material used to produce the coat?

*Button information for all the above mentioned pieces would be greatly appreciated.

*The gloves - Custom made? Assuming they were. What process was used to get
the worn look and fit of them?

*Chain - Was it held on by being attached to the braces? The other item is what was the true color of the chain?

*Braces - Were they purchased from Albert Thurston? And were the color of the suspenders itself Grey or Black with Green Diamonds?

Finally the shoes, we are aware they were made in Milan, but we would absolutely LOVE to know the actual manufacturer. Ms. Hemming, we are aware that you are a very busy designer with a hectic schedule. Your insight, help, information (and any pictures you may provide) would be much appreciated. Attached is a sample of what we have created with the information and research we have done on our own.

Woodstro, I attached one of your remarkable photo's as proof of our dedication to SA.

Good questions Jodo!

Thanks! :D

Speaking of sending pictures.....I had a thought, we should set a date, and we should all get together sometime. Like at a convention or something. We could take a group photo and send it around to evryone that helped out on TDK. :hehe:

(That's like asking an entire team of people out on a date, LOL!)

Sounds awesome, don't know how likely, but awesome all the same.

Thanks! :D

Baltimore Comicon this weekend! Late notice, but I'll be there.

But good idea, we should definitely plan something to get all us goofballs in a room together - Joker Army, lol.

Body, thanks for getting some of my questions in there. I'm really curious how the chain attached, and if it was actually connected to the one knife on the table just before the interrogation scene, or just to the braces.

And finally, I think this should take care of the "what color were the braces" debate.

A question I did forget to include though, was where was the fabric for the back of the vest found, being as it seems to be a tough design to locate. I'm kicking myself for not putting that in there as I was rushing to get those questions to you off the top of my head while finishing up some paperwork. Dammit. I guess the first part asking what the green was threw me off and I thought I'd included it. I even doubled checked, but it just left my mind, lol.

Thanks! :D

I would totally be down for that!

too bad they are a limited use item.

I have to get some silicone scars soon!!!

I'm hoping with all the questions I sent she can provide further details than we asked for. I think it was just the right amount of items to ask her for, don't wanna push our luck. Hopefully, we can get some awesome resources outside Magnoli.

Thanks! :D

Well, this is a bit biased since it's ultra convenient for me, but what about New York Comic Con? It's about exactly a year away, so that gives people plenty of time to plan, plus it's a really cool event in a great destination!

Won't be able to make it, will be livin' in the U.K. by then.

We should crash Celebration 5. :funny: (I plan to!)

Here are some other questions that need to be asked if we ever send another....volley...of questions to her. :

We know you bases the hexagon shirt off of an existing pattern, was the Bank Heist shirt likewise a custom pattern, or was that a shirt you just found? We have a near match to it, but nothing exact.

Were the socks used on the Bank Heist costume purchased from Tabio, or were they some other brand of socks?

What were the shoes used in the Bank Heist costume? We've found quite a few Sketchers and other casual shoes that look alot alike, but likewise we've never been able to find an exact match.

EDIT - And now I've got a probolem. I didn't relise Trick-or-Treat would be on Friday, and then the Fall Festival on Saturday. So what the probolem you may ask? I have one set of transfer scars. I've never used them, and don't have any training on applying them. I also need to put the war paint on before the 20th. So I have 3 days I need to have make-up on, and only one set of onetime use transfers. Dangit. So do I wait for the 31st's Fall Fest to apply them? That's cutting it sorta short, and considering I've never applied a transfer before, it might cause some trouble. LOL.

So......You guys think I should buy some other applicances before then? Silicone or otherwise? I love the idea of the seamless..ness of the transfers. But at $30 a pop, I can't afford to do that. I'd rather have a set that'd last me longer than one day, LOL.

Where did you get the transfers from?

From a guy I know on the RPF; B89. I helped critique him along the way, LOL.

EDIT - Frak me! I forgot, I also got invited to the college for their Halloween party which is like 23rd.

Yeh, i used the black on it already, and it looked very good when it was totally saturated with water, and gave me a hint of what it would like totally dyed. I heard that silk is quite good at absorbing dyes anyhow, so i shall have a go with some other colours and see what happens. I'll bear the brown thing in mind though :cwink:

See the thing is if you went for the pro stuff, you could literally leave the scars and make-up on for those entire 3 days :)

EDIT - By the way, just got back from Baltimore Comicon. Had fun and didn't spend much like I thought I would. Not as many costumes as I thought I'd see either. A few Joker's, but nothing really stood out for accuracy.

How's the coat gents & ladies?

clownprince, the costume, the make-up, the wig, perfect, it looks great. well-done man, definitely worth the time and money put into it. I have a question that you've probably answered once if not more than once before, what make-up do you use?
