Not sure how many people will be interested in this, but manhuntercomics.com are giving away free issues of Manhunter #20 (OYL title) to five people who want them. All you have to do is post in at the forum thread and you'll probably get an issue.

It is a fantastic book and anyone who is on the fence about picking up the comic should take advantage, got nothing to loose! You might end up loving it...

And actually Marc Andreyko just gave away 7 packs of #20 & #21 - but they have just already been accounted for.

Great book, I'm glad I started reading it OYL. I've since bought the rest of the run.

Say, Yena, I saw you voted for the Avs in the Stanley Cup thread, Avs fan are ya? You're a good man

Haha, I noticed you were the other person to vote for them :D

Even though I live in England got a friend in America who got me into them, so I support them from afar (when i'm able to catch a game anyway - which is hardly often).

Yeah, I've been an Avs fan since they became the Avs... I'm not gonna lie, I cried when Ray Bourque lifted the Cup.

Not been lucky enough to see that yet.

Only started supporting them in about... 2002 or might have been 2003... I think... about the same time I found out you can watch NHL late night on some English TV channels. Not long really.

So not yet seen them lift the cup but I'm hoping too soon.

Manhunter only kills good villains or underdeveloped villains (Monocle, Dr. Moon, Copperhead...)

Why kill the good ones? Identity Crisis set Monocle up for the big time, then..

Reported at Comics Continuum, Manhunter's last issue will be #25. I'm kinda sad this will end. I liked how the comic title was like from the character of Manhunter to the criminals she fights and the ones she would have to defend. It was an interesting concept.

DC: at least release the trades to complete the series for those who like it.

I too am sadened by these news but I have to admit that it had started to lose some of the appeal it had in the begining. I don't know if it was her less than superheroish attitude or her ruthlessnes, there was some spark in the begining that separated her from the rest. I have to admit that I had hopes of seeing of seeing Mark Shaw in the title, considering her staff was so much like his; but was later disappointed at how they retconned him.

Damn, thats messed up. It was one of DC's best titles in my opinion. Well, at least I can say I have every issue. Hopefully she gets picked up by the Outsiders or something.

Oh well it had a good run. At least DC was with it till the end.

Could it be just a plan, like Spider-Girl, to say it'll end then pick it up again?

Also, why no more new trades? We at least deserve that.

I don't think it's a bluff or whatever the hell all of Spider-Girl's cancelation notices are. DC's usually more upfront about that kind of stuff. Take JLA, for example: before JLA was canceled we already knew it'd be relaunched as Justice League of America.

damn, i just read the first trade and was gonna pick it up..

I've said it before: Only good villains die at the hands of Manhunter. She's like the Bizarro Crisis on Infinite Earths, or something. Monocle, Dr. Moon, Copperhead, I can't think of others right now...

Monocle in particular had been set up for the big time by IC, and never got to do anything after that.

copperhead sucked ass until he was in her book, then she killed him :(

No, Copperhead sucked until he was in Starman.

*****! I *really* enjoy this book. I admit it took a few issues for me to get over the "if you were a better lawer" bit, but since then, to me it seems to have always maintained such a high standard. Even while all the othe DC titles were all over the place with the Crisis going on, Manhunter i could count on to be consistently a good read. I really am sad to hear this.

I've heard good things about this book. Some negative. I've never had any inclination to pick it up because it doesn't seem like it's connected to the DCU. Take the new Blue Beetle, for example - that guy was all over IC. If he wasn't I'm not sure I would've been as interested in his solo book.

Oh it was connected. The Society showed up a couple of times. She prosocuted Shadow Theif for the murder of Firestorm. Alan Scott Showed up to tell his son (Who is dating one of her co workers, and also happens to be a man. yes, thats right, Obsidians' out of the closet) that his sister died during IC. It's connected, but it was allowed to tell it's own story. And it was great. You should check out the trades or back issues or whatever.

The story at the moment is tied directly to Villains United and IC 7 with Dr. Pyscho.

The problem is that everytime that DC tries to re-invent a character like Wild Cat or, in this case, Manhunter, they lose what made the character interesting in the first place.

Bring back Paul Kirk and the Simonson version. It's the only reinvention of the character that worked.

If you want a female version - invent a new character with a different name.

David got it right. which is why i'm not interested in the new atom or firestorm, or blue beetle
