well i said it before i hope the costume folks have a good design, use good materials, retain the classic look of the suit with not making not needed changes to it. I would like as i said before to be more like the spider-man movie suits in faithful translation.

Does the script describe what the suit looks like at all? Does it describe the mask?

The mask is protocal for any beings whose planet is ignorant of alien lifeforms.

It was described as having white pupils when Hal wears it.

I always loved the first half of the script.

Hal being a cocky ****er and almost dies in the test flight, Hal going to his nephew's birthday (whom I hope to God is reduced in the script) and him and Tom finding Abin Sur's ship.

What did you think of the montage where GL is going around and being a hero? It seems a little generic and reminded me of SM.

He'll fit perfectly. The first draft, at least, read like it was written for him.

He fits very well, and rewrites can only help it.

Chris Pine came to me first while reading it after I saw ST. Especially the introductory scene when he sleeps with the yoga instructor.

I'm on the fence about that. It's a good scene, but the epic feels is detached by Tom's humor, and I kinda think that should be Hal's discovery only.

Love it. With the right cinematography (Mixing TV broadcasts, voice-overs, Cellphone filming, journalist filming, etc.) and the right score (John Williams, John Williams...), it'll be a total nerdgasm.

protocida I'll agree there with Tom.

It was cool he was lifted up in his car by the summoning of the ring at his nephew's birthday though. And hell, I liked the garage scene with him and Tom. Tom can still be funny, it's just that humor in the script was dreadful, but I'm sure that will be fixed.

Yea will be interesting to see how much got changed/switched/removed/added since that first draft to the shooting draft.

i heard that alan scott says something to hal about him once being a GL.

Alan Scott essentially plays the Colonel from Rambo (after final battle sequence and opens the movie)... but he's also the President's right hand. Hopefully, in the sequels we get to see him kick ass when the guardians need every single lantern they can get their hands on

Got my hands on the script again, thanks to GL1, and I forgot how great it was. The humor is still bad, but it's solid. Particularly how the flashbacks are handled. Intercut with the present events with Martin's death. And the scene where Hal first takes off, it flashbacks to Martin teaching Hal how to fly.

Hammond needs one scene towards the beginning to introduce him. Something to get across of a life he wants and his hatred of his father. And further develop it.

Well remember doctor jones that was only the first draft and it has been through i believe 5-6 rewrites along with geoff johns stuff added in/campbell adding-changing things, and studio requests. So hopefully what didnt work well in that draft was fixed in the later ones/shooting script.
