X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

Idk I hope not
I've only seen her in Stranger Things and can't really tell about her overall acting prowess
And she's just far too young (or at least young-looking) imo

She could be firestar that's fine, but not Jean

But... in Sarah Haley Finn we trust, so I guess I'll give her her shot

Lord, I don't want to see Jean or the X-Men gets introduced through a Spider-Man movie...

Well… our first X-Men may have been cast… 👀
I really hope not

Iceman is the only X-Man I see on a Spiderman movie, it would be huge news and would make him a star and fan favourite, as he deserves. But Jean Grey on a Spiderman movie? yiiiikes, no, thank you. Doesnt feel right to me (even if they add other x-men, no.... Sony and X-Men? no.

no.

no no, lol.

I'm fine with Firestar appearing in Spider-Man next year.

do you really think Sadie is the best choice for such an important character as Jean Grey for the long awaited Marvel Studios X-Men film? taking into account that this version of the X-Men will be (kinda) the most important one in the long run

Yes. Jean Grey is my #1 favorite character, and as I've previously mentioned, I've known Sadie's family since she was 8! She's a terrific actor who's starred on Broadway, 8 shows a week, opposite Helen Miren. She has the right look and is the right age.

After the total miscast of Sophie Turner, I'm stoked at the possibility.

We've been hearing for months that Sadie Sink is the frontrunner for Jean Grey. We've also been hearing that they're currently casting the other X-Men as well. No one expected her to appear in Spider-Man. Maybe she won't be the only one.

Who knows. Maybe she's Black Cat or Spider-Gwen. But Sneider has a solid casting track record and has been leading the Jean Grey charge since day one. Everyone has been calling his bluff because "the X-Men are YEARS away!". Well...

Jean introduced in a Spider-Man movie would only make sense if the rumours about the movie being set on battleworld is true. And they're making Spider-Man a 'semi Avengers movie', sort of like Civil War was.

But... that still doesn't make much sense to me.

We'll see.

I respect that and I understand your points.
its interesting because I was so excited when Sophie was announced, its interesting how these things work with the fans lol. I always knew Sophie wasnt a "younger version of Famke", or wasnt the best possible choice, but I was rooting for her even before she was even rumored. But I understand each fan or viewer has their own tastes and vision of how each x-man should be, (from the comics, animated shows and co)
I was really happy with Fox prequels X-Men, because it was just that, prequels and they all had potential and it would be fun.
But in my case, Marvel Studios reboot is a whole diff monster, and its 10 times more important than Fox prequels. So..... Im more demanding now, in terms of cast, look and all.
I think its really hard to cast the X-Men, because.. "they have to be perfect!" in our mind, you know? :whoops::hearts:
I hope Feige and Sarah F. dont dissapoint most of us. and make them justice. thats the most important thing.

I really like Sadie, tho, and have loved her character in Stranger things. Just to make it clear that my reaction wasnt about her talents at all. she is a star in the making, for sure.

I completely get it, and I hope I didn’t come across as too harsh! I’m just really excited, just like you, about our mutants.

Interesting casting news! I think a Spider-Man related character makes more sense than Jean. The initial expectation for the X-Men leading up to Secret Wars is that we would see more of the OT cast again, especially since we have versions of Grammer’s Beast and Jackman’s Wolverine still running round. If Sink is Jean, that really throws things for a loop. That said, I’m pretty game for any of the role possibilities, whether she’s playing Black Cat, Firestar, Jean, or someone else.

Sneider says Jean is unlikely because Sony would have to give Lauren Shuler Donner a producing credit, and he can't see that happening.

Some of you can breathe a sigh of relief now! LOL.

lets not come to conclussions yet.

tho.... that Donner part...... is Marvel giving her credits for Deadpool & Wolverine, Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels?

Is these rights ever going to expire? :o

:tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: yeah, what the hell? lol
next news will be "Simon Kinberg in talks to direct the X-Men reboot"

Let me split the difference. She’s playing Firestar and has a different civilan name and powerset, but she’s a Jean Grey variant.

If it’s the case that Jean Gray can’t be part of Spider-Man 4 without having to credit a Lauren Schuler Donner on the original films, this could be their way around that.

You get a taste of Sadie Sink’s acting and what she’ll bring to MCU Jean Grey without having to waste that character in a one off appearance right off the bat and bringing all of the baggage that comes with such a big and important character like that.

When I saw Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg on Deadpool & Wolverine's opening credits.... I was a bit shook.
