X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

So does anyone else think that Ms. Marvel will be a part of the X-Men movies once Marvel gets around to it? Do you guys see her replacing Jubilee/Kitty?

No. Why invent the concept of the 'Marvels' as a tightly related group/team if she's earmarked for the X-men anyway? (And no, I don't believe there'll be characters getting major roles on multiple different teams as there are too many characters and not enough screentime.)

More likely, expect something like the Spider-man/X-men crossovers (animated or in the comics). She may appear in an X-men movie as a special guest star related to the plot, or she may have X-characters appear on her show as special guest stars related to the plot.

We're probably still 5 or 6 years away from an actual MCU X-men movie anyways, who the heck knows which current heroes will even be around. I imagine we'll be moving on to a 3rd generation by then.

At this point, I'm just eXpecting it to be released as early as May 2030, less than seven years from now and thirty years after 20th Century FoX's X-Men.

If the actors' strike last longer than 3 months, there would be another set of delays. Also these are the upcoming films that would be released before Marvel Studios' X-Men:

  1. 4
  2. Armor Wars
  3. Avengers: Secret Wars
  4. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty
  5. Blade
  6. Black Panther Forever More
  7. Captain America: Brave New World
  8. Captain Marvel 3
  9. Deadpool: No Way FoX
  10. Doctor Strange 3
  11. Eternals II
  12. Shang-Chi 2
  13. Spider-Man: Home Alone
  14. Thunderbolts
There could be a sequel to 4, Blade, Captain America: Brave New World, Deadpool: No Way FoX and Thunderbolts before Marvel Studios' X-Men as well.

getting more and more excited for the show now! :loving:

I am already preparing myself to be disappointed with the new cartoon. But hey, I think its been over a decade since Wolverine and the X-Men. So its a must watch.

I don't see her "replacing" Jubilee/Kitty so much... but, play a similar role that they played in that she'll be the new recruit (that represents "us" {the viewers} as an outsider first being introduced too this world) which is basically how Jubilee (in the TAS) Kitty (in Pryde of the X-Men/X-men: Evolution) were treated

I wouldn't want this to be an instead of Jubilee/Kitty situation... but, instead allow Jubilee/Kitty to become more seasoned member's of the (already existing) team

Right now she's the first mutant introduced into the MCU. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up being an original member of the X-Men in the MCU.
so with my above statement said... No, I wouldn't want her to be an OG member of the team, the team should be already formed, and take her in

And I'm not merely talking about the movies...

Spider-Man and Black Panther are technically originally Black Panther characters if we only use the MCU movies. Thankfully plenty of people have been eXposed to the comics, cartoons and videogames featuring these characters.

@Venom 1988 right?

Honestly with so many X-Men characters, I don't know why they should make someone who was originally an Inhuman, then retconned in 2022 as a mutant, become a founding member of the X-Men?

Who really wants that?

I'm gonna resurrect this post of mine from the last page.
I read X-Men comics, I don't think I've seen Kamala Khan in them. I've seen her in Inhumans, I actually read Inhumans when they were making them the neXt big thing.

Also just because Rogue, the Wolverine and Beast joined the Avengers don't make them defacto Avengers characters.... or else FoX would have shared film rights with Marvel Studios back in the 2000s...

Like this doesn't need to be eXplained that certain characters are first and foremost X-Men characters. And certain characters like Kamala isn't first and foremost a X character....
Wolverine is technically a Hulk character since he 1st appeared in a Hulk comics. Yet when film rights were sold, he wasn't sold to Universal.

I honestly want to read @Venom 1988 own words in this discussion, as he's been liking every post that states that Kamala is a X-Men character.

I have no idea what you're going on about here.

Re: Wolverine. I know its a case by case basis. But I stand by my opinion that Kamala isn't a X-Men character.

Namor is originally a mutant in the comics iirc, I've seen him as a X-Men member in the comics, I have plenty of those issues but do I call Namor a "X-Men character"? Not really. He's a mutant and joined the X-Men as a member.

I call him as a Marvel character (they all are anyway), and the others that don't really belong in 1 category. Steve Rogers, Peter Parker and Thor probably have appeared in more X-Men comics than Kamala Khan, but I'm not gonna argue those are X-Men characters as well.

Legit have no idea why you're calling me out on this. I can like a post without engaging in the conversation. I don't owe you an response. But since you're dragging me into this...Kamala has an x-men uniform for her upcoming series. She's gonna be a member of the team. Full stop, that's not really up for debate. Is she going to be primarily known for being an X-men character going forward? Probably not but that's not what people are saying. Beast is primarily known as an X-Men character but he's still technically an Avengers character as well.

They were never members of the team. Kamala is going to be, that's the difference.

Anyone saw the finale of Secret Invasion?

Emilia Clarke's character basically have powers of different mcu characters.

The X-Men character, I remembered while watching the finale was Iceman. I don't think I've seen anyone in the MCU with ice powers? So that was weird.

then I saw an article for the finale mentinioning Rogue. Emilia Clarke would have been alright as Rogue.

I think the ice powers were from the Jotunheim frost beast

And I feel so bad for Emilia Clarke... first the GoT finale being what it was, then Terminator and Solo underperforming, now Secret Invasion being a big ole disappointment. She probably should've held out for a Betsy or maybe Rachel Grey in a film rather than this. Girl needs a new agent.

All MCU shows are disappointing imo. Thats why I never get eXcited when they cast someone familiar in the shows, since there's 80% chance, they would be wasted and not appear in the films.

We still don't know when and where will Moon Knight, She Hulk, Kate Bishop, Daredevil (after his show aired) will show up neXt.

Yeah I do feel like that sector isn’t being managed well. I know tv is hard but it’s just not taking the opportunities they’re given

How Secret Invasion Chose Which Avenger Powers to Show Off in the Super Skrull Fight - Comic Book Movies and Superhero Movie News - SuperHeroHype

Iirc it says every Avenger meaning the good guys, I don't know how the Frost giant would even be considered and then ended up in the show.

The thing is when a studio is producing content for two platforms (TV and film), its obvious that the film would get more attention, money and care specifically Marvel Studios had the films as their bread/butter.

Major studios have their separate unit for TV and film and there's a reason for that. Also, they went overboard ordering too much shows when Disney+ wasn't even that well established and the current Marvel Studios era, barely had any eXperience producing live action shows since 2008.

Honestly I would rather they make tie-in animated MCU shows about the unseen side adventures of A list characters like Iron Man, Cap, Hulk, and Spidey than have the majority of Phase 4 and 5's screentime be about D and E and F tier characters.

At least give us a mix of both animated and live action shows like Star Wars does.

Depends on who's gonna work on those cartoons.

If its supervised by Marvel Studios then no. They need to keep up with quality instead of quantity.
