X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

From the second HoX/PoX launched I was always waiting on the other shoe to drop

I enjoyed some of the ideas that came out of it, but I hated the idea of mutants isolating on an island, and didn't like how out of character a lot of the X-Men were portrayed, especially early on

That said, I hope they don't end up all back at the mansion pretending Krakoa never happened
I feel like quitting on X-Men comics now.
I haven't read anything since Age of Krakoa ended.

I was discussing Insomniac Wolverine here and remembered they used Nathalie Emmanuel for Jean's concept art.

What do you think about this casting for the MCU? I kinda like it.
I'm open to it. Haven't seen much from her so it's hard to say.

So Storm is rumoured to be this new character that What If will introduce in the MCU?

Not my preferred route, but What-If is pretty low stakes IMO. No weirder to introduce Storm here than it was having Mr. Fantastic or Black Bolt appear in MOM, prior to their MCU-counterparts' introductions.

I think there is a difference. There was a lot of hype and buzz towards MoM. It was a major event hence a proper place to introduce big characters, as disappointing their appearance ended up being.

Now such a major character in the lame ass What If?

Eww...

Btw, I think What If is so lame that no character should be introduced there. A or Z list. 😀

Who cares if What If? introduces any character?

If you hate the show that much don't watch it. It's not the same Storm that will be on the movie screen anyway. She's a variant at best and probably not even played by an actor actually intended to go on to be in movies, either. And in the unlikely event that's wrong, you can just listen to her lines on Youtube when people inevitably put up clips so you can still hear what she sounds like without watching.

People who get so militant over hating a fun cartoon series that isn't even in the mainline MCU canon are weird as hell.

Dude, you're taking it far too personal.

This is a debate forum last time I checked. There's nothing wrong in expressing my dislike for a show or a creative decision.

Do you say this kind of thing to the mods who constantly display their dislike for Spider Man 4' possible creative decisions, or Doom's casting? I guess not right? Why don't you "bully" them as "weird as hell", or tell them to just don't watch what they criticize?

My second post is clearly a joke and Venom1988 even joked it back.

Relax.

If you liked it, cool. Like Venom posted, it's literally just my opinion. Not a big deal.

RDJ as Doom.
Jackman possibly staying as Logan and no recast.
Tatum as Gambit.

They should fast-track a sequel to D&W in-between Doomsday and Secret Wars if they want to see Tatum as Gambit again; just make a version of the eXiles.

I don't think they have enough time for that.

Channing Tatum could at least appear in Doomsday and Secret Wars.

I stopped watching What If? after the first season.
It’s surprisingly dull isn’t it. For something with limitless potential and the best they can do is like…what if Captain America was a woman?!?!?!

Absolutelly.

Specially when you look at what Spider-Verse did. Both in terms of animation, like bringing a different identity to each universe, and also in terms of exploring the concept of multiverse.

I would honestly be fine with this. I think people are reading too much into RR's comments. He just said they like his Gambit and he hopes he can appear again. Ryan always hypes up his friends. Doesn't necessarily mean he will be the official Gambit. I honestly don't think even Channing Tatum thinks that.

That said, if they are actually stupid enough to make a 50-year-old man with a dad bod and a receding hairline Gambit in the MCU, I swear to God I will not watch a single MCU X-Men movie.

Not with the dad bod body shaming :weeping:
That's the one thing I liked :o

I'm joking, just to be clear.

Although dad bod :hearts:

Based on the D&W shooting script, I'm sure they could put together a treatment over the weekend :o

Okay to him appearing in Secret Wars, sure... as long as Channing Tatum's Gambit doesn't carry over into the MCU-proper

"No" to meme-based and corporately dictated casting decisions

Let Sarah Haley Finn do what she does better than anyone in Hollywood
