The latest rumor from MyTimeToShineHello , is that Marvel Studios would like Daniel Day Lewis to play Magneto.

I could believe that Marvel Studios would want DDL for the role, but , i'd also like to be 6'3 and be driving a Red Corvette .

I find it pretty hard to believe Lewis would agree to play the role , but I'd be pleasantly surprised if he said yes.

This is Hollywood, and you can never say never, but I highly doubt it will happened.

But , I'd be cool with either Denzel or Daniel as Magento.

Heck, I'd be fine with a combo ,of either one, as Charles and Erik.

There is absolutely no chance DDL plays Magneto, lol! That's as likely as the Speilberg directing FF thing

Again, this X-Men speculation is going to be WAY more annoying than the MCU FF's was.

Cranston as Professor X just gives me a mental image of him shouting "MY X-MEN ARE THE ONES WHO KNOCK!!!!" And it's ruined that prospect for me, lol!!!!

I always chalk casting rumors at this stage as being names on Feige's wish list that leaked out and people running with them lol.

Domingo would be a cool choice for Professor X though. The only downside in my book was that I was kinda hoping he'd transition over to being Norman Osborn in live-action.

Daniel Day-Lewis is the greatest actor alive. He wouldn't come anywhere near a superhero film. He's also semi retired. The idea that he would commit a decade to Marvel of all things is laughable.

All these X-Men rumors are nonsense.

At this point, they really should get the deal done with hiring a director first before casting and contacting anyone to star in the movie. I know Marvel Studios operate differently, but still.

I saw thunderbolts yesterday, it was ok but I don’t think the director is the best choice for x-men. Especially because they already got a white writer, it’s kind of a double up for a story about diversity and acceptance

Honestly, this would be fine by me. This is a fun roster & cast. There’s no romantic pairing though, maybe swap Psylocke for Rogue. It might be refreshing to see an X-roster without Jean (though she’s my favorite)

Older than I would've gone for but for Magneto and his backstory I guess you'd have to go on the older side.

Older than I would've gone for but for Magneto and his backstory I guess you'd have to go on the older side.

I would prefer someone younger for the Professor, someone in their early 50s. But Bryan Cranston would be fine as the Professor.

Same. He is a great actor, but looks nothing like Charles Xavier, and not only that, he doesnt give the vibe of Charles either.

hell, even Christian Bale would have been a better fit, look wise.

Rogue is definitely going to be in the movie.

Rogue hasn't been in a movie for more than 10 years, I doubt, they wouldn't bring her in.

Who says they don't have one already. Reports were they were closing in on the Thunderbolts director, and maybe that's official already. Who knows, not like Marvel Studios always announces that type of thing when it happens.

I think Charles Dance would make a good Magneto. However the problem they are going to run into with the character is the timeline issue. WW2 ended in 1945 whereas the MCU is currently in 2027 which means Magneto would be in his late 80s/90s in present day MCU. They should not change his backstory because it is what drives his character. They could maybe make use of Variants and have the MCU Magneto be either from a timeline where the nazis won and the holocaust is essentially ongoing or from a timeline where time moves slower so WW2 wasn't that long ago for MCU Magneto. He would recognise the anti-mutant sentiment as similar to that of the nazi propoganda against jewish people.

I think Colin Salmon could make a good Charles Xavier. He has that calm and collected air about him.

Namor called himself a Mutant and was like 4000 years old, just say it’s a Mutation.

I mean I know people will but who’s seriously gonna walk away from a movie with mind control, eye lasers, and Weather witchery, and say “Yeah but he should be older no?”

If the writers can make it work with all the characters, I’d really prefer the classic TAS lineup. But I’d be happy with the 90s blue team too, even if that would mean no Jean or Storm (for now).

But I’m not sure if MCU would reboot X-Men without Storm on the roster. I could see them taking a breather on Jean though, or keep her in the mansion with Xavier in a supporting/secondary role for the first film.

Cyclops, Rogue, Gambit, Psylocke, Beast, and Jubilee just sounds like a fun movie to me. After two casts, maybe it’s time to shake up the roster.

And, sure, Hugh Jackman til he’s 90 since it’s looking like that’s where all roads lead. Let Logan help Xavier run the team as drill sergeant in the Danger Room, i.e., X-Men: Evolution.
