Wait a minute...this woman doesn't work at all but yet could afford to pay for plastic surgery? Did California tax payers give her that money through welfare for the 6 other kids?

I think she got $150k from worker's compensation from an injury she suffered several years ago while working at a mental hospital. That money also helped her getting those in-vitro procedures.

Frankly nobody would be so harsh on her if she had a man. If she had a man people would be sending her diapers and balloons right on schedule. Who knew one penis made such a difference?

"We're certainly watching [Suleman's] story unfold," says TLC president Eileen O'Neill, who confirms that several production companies affiliated with the network have contacted Suleman. "There are a lot of decisions that go into greenlighting a family for any of our shows. What kind of characters are they? How would they come across on TV?"

Some TLC fans don't seem eager to find out; plenty have already flooded the network's website with threats to boycott any show that might feature Suleman and her 14 children. (Typical post: "I beg you not to support anything this woman has done or will do.") Public sentiment for the woman dubbed "Octomom" has run the gamut from total fascination to outright disgust. According to People magazine, even Suleman's mother, Angela -- who's been caring for her daughter's other children -- is losing patience with her, and says she's "leaving" once Suleman returns. All of this means any network, publisher, or studio will have serious issues to consider before going into business with Suleman. "Our audience is pretty vocal," admits O'Neill. "There is a [waiting] period here to see if there's something that we as a network feel makes good sense. There are so many things going on in that woman's life right now -- we're all waiting to see what happens next."

Disgusted at the media who give her what she wants - attention and money. She probably cares more about this than the children; she is exploiting them period. If she wants to continue to milk the welfare dole, she needs to be sterilized. This is absolutely irresponsible....

I haven't done a complete cross check on this, but from what I understand, being just a twin lowers a child's IQ by over 5 points... Do the math on this scenario...

I don't care if it is one or eight, she should not be having ANYMORE. She was and is doling the system. She needs to be sterilized if she wants anymore welfare. If she chooses not to be sterilized, then no more welfare, and the kids should be put into adoption or an orphanage.

The money goes to her disabled kids (she doesn't get money for her non-disabled kids) the way social security was intended. People have no problem using tax payer money to build prisons to house and feed non violent drug offenders why not use some of that money to help disabled children.

She planned on having and loving seven kids, there's nothing wrong with that. No reason to talk sterilization. And why people are opposed to her having a tv show is beyond me. It will get her off of the government teet and we can use that money on billion dollar bombs in Iraq.

Don't be surprised if Child Services swoops in the next year or so....the state needs to sit her down and perform a thorough psychological evaluation and determine if she is fit to raise and support these children....

If I am reading things correctly, she used IVF for all her children. She HAD A CHOICE. You already have handicapped children and you go a head and want another child only it turns into EIGHT.

She is living in California, the same state that is now bordering on bankruptcy, handing out IOUs and just released thousands of inmates to cut operational costs. On top of which, the 2008 bailout just drained a chunk of the social security reserve... So she is now exploiting the children for publicity so she won't suck on the Welfare teat, swell

She was implanted with 6 empryos. 2 of them split, she ended up with 8. I think she intended to have at the most 6 more. Which in her case would of been 6 to many.

With no job, no husband, living in a house that her parents bought her which appearantly cost them their own house, she and her doctor had no business trying to have 1 more child let alone 6 more that turned into 8 more.

After watching her on Dateline, she has some form of mental disorder, she doesn't believe accepting food stamps and disability for 3 of her children doesn't constitute welfare. When is a woman of 14 kids going to have time to finish her schooling and get her Masters degree. She'll be lucky if she gets 4 hours of sleep a night. When and if she gets this masters degree, when is she going to be able to go to work? She says she plans on moving in to a bigger house when all the babies come home. What lender is going to give her a bigger mortgage when she has no job and barely enough income to cover her bills as it is. How much in student loans does she already owe.

This woman doesn't deserve anybody's pity or charity. She probably went in to this thinking the world would love her and her family and send her donations and gifts just like they do with John and Kate another family who exploits their kids.
