I'm kinda leaning both ways here..I mean its "her body"..she can have as many kids as she wants..right?

Yeah, but doing this to her body, means producing more bodies to take care of. I saw a report yesterday with the woman's lawyer or publicist saying the backlash about this is because the economy is in such bad shape and if the birth happened a few years ago, people would be much more generous. That's a nice way to spin it, but sorry this woman had six kids without the means to support or care for them (one woman can't support six kids by themself) and then went back to the in vitro place to have more, underdoing a procedure that had a large "risk" of multiple births. It's irresponsible, I could understand a married couple that have been trying unsuccessfully for a while to have kids going to a fertility clinic to have this procedure and them having multiple babies and receiving aid, the couple was prepared for a baby, but not multiple and is now in over their head. This woman was already over her head and purposely went out to drown herself some more.

Exactly.

Wait a minute...this woman doesn't work at all but yet could afford to pay for plastic surgery? Did California tax payers give her that money through welfare for the 6 other kids?
Its California they give away plastic surgery with food stamps :funny:
Someone here on the Hype would still hit that though
and that sentance alone is why some people on hype scare me
And the FairTax! SuBe's OCD tells him the FairTax will solve this problem too!.
j/k

Police said Thursday they will investigate death threats against octuplet mom Nadya Suleman and advise her publicist on how to handle a torrent of other nasty messages that have flooded his office.

Word that the 33-year-old single, unemployed mother is receiving public assistance to care for the 14 children she conceived through in vitro fertilization has stoked furor among many people.

Police Lt. John Romero said officers were meeting with Suleman's publicist Mike Furtney about the flood of angry phone calls and e-mail messages against Suleman, her children and Furtney.

"We are aware of the media accounts of the threats, and that they are being sent to the West Los Angeles detectives for appropriate action," Romero said.
Furtney said 500 new e-mails were received early Thursday.

"We're talking to the Los Angeles Police Department to get their best advice as to how to regard these messages," Furtney said as the phone in his office rang constantly.

He is also consulting with a security professional to get advice on any precautions that might need to be taken.

Suleman is living in an undisclosed location and spends time with all her kids every day, Furtney said. The octuplets are expected to remain in the hospital for several more weeks.

Not all the calls have been angry. One family from the Midwest has invited Suleman and her brood to live on their farm, Furtney said."One thing that keeps me from jumping out the window is that we've heard from many people offering some kind of support: clothing, food, financial or other help," Furtney said.

Suleman has been supporting her six other children with $490 a month in food stamps and receives Social Security disability payments for three of the youngsters that could total $2,379 a month.

She has estimated her in vitro fertilization procedures have cost $100,000.

Suleman has said she saved for the treatments by working double shifts and also used money from a disability award exceeding $165,000 that she received after an on-the-job back injury.

The benefits were discontinued last year.

The Suleman octuplets' medical costs have not been disclosed, but in 2006, the average cost for a premature baby's hospital stay in California was $164,273, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Eight times that equals $1.3 million.

For a single mother, the cost of raising 14 children through age 17 ranges from $1.3 million to $2.7 million, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

What an idiot. I love how you need a license to have a dog but any dumbass can have a kid. Or 14.

Her reproductive system should be disconnected. ******edness of this nature is most likely genetic and the factory needs to be shut down.

The factory is already well above average production rate so we're doomed.

After having those previous 6 kids I'm surprised it didn't already. I mean just how could one survive developing 6 kids all at once in something the size of a pear.

Star, don't worry. Some of those fourteen are going to starve to death or eat each other.

I just think it's horrible. This mother is clearly not thinking of anyone but herself. She certainly doesn't have the best interests of the children in mind.

Seriously. This was the chain of reactions to this story from me:

-That's nice

-Wait... she's got another six?

-She doesn't have a f--king job?

-She's not even in a relationship?!?!?!

-F--k this baby-factory-acting ******.

-Wait... how are the kids going to fare in this?

So many things wrong... the kids were lost in the shuffle. Wouldn't be surprised to see a cardboard box with a sign next to it: "Free babies, limit- two per person".

I also think that the doctor who performed the IVF should be charged with something.

If it would help me get some modicum of affordable health insurance I'll take one of those babies. It pisses me off girls like her can do these things yet I'm told by every Gov't welfare system I make too much even though I've told them all I want is partial help, not full coverage. Even just 300 dollars extra a month would help me out. But nooo....the gov't would rather spend thousands of dollars on these sorts of leeches instead of helping people who honestly work for their money.

Isn't he? Or is it just the court of public opinion that has led to him being reporter mobbed on the streets?

I can't believe she found a doctor who would actually do it.

He also did her last set of twins and was reported that he has another patient right now that is pregnant with quads.

KTLA News

February 13, 2009

LOS ANGELES -- The fertility doctor who helped octuplets' mother Nadya Suleman conceive has been linked to another multiple pregnancy involving a 49-year old woman.

The woman, who already has three adult children from her first marriage, reportedly wanted more with her new younger husband.

Dr. Michael Kamrava reportedly implanted her with at least 7 embryos made from younger donor eggs.

The woman arrived at Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment but was transferred last week to County-USC because she lacks insurance, according to the L.A. Times.

Doctors placed her on bed rest until the birth of the babies, which, they added, could be two or three months from now.

Reached by telephone, the woman, who is about five months pregnant, denied Kamrava was her doctor.

The Times said it has verified "through several independent sources" that Kamrava is the woman's physician.

She said her doctors urged her not to talk to the media because of the stress of dealing with a high-risk pregnancy.

"Please respect my privacy," she said to the Times, adding that her circumstances are much different from Suleman's.
