Edgar Wright is ten times the director Peyton Reed is.

And takes ten times as long. :o

Normally I would agree but there seems to be a running theme throughout her history of people not being able to agree about who the character is. This extends beyond film. Her comic history is probably the most inconsistent of the main DC characters. As such with such varying interpretations comes varying opinions about what should be done. The question is a valid one in my mind.

Well I hope that they've already worked out who she is for BvS and there is an existing vision there which they've discussed beforehand so that Jenkins is on board for that. Or maybe she'll bring her own ideas to the table which are compatible this time.

Good to see a quick (and strong) turnaround on the replacement.

I'm guessing Jenkins isn't partial to Mr. Tawky Tawny. :o

So what? He didn't exit with the mighty Marvel studios on amicable terms, so we must irrationally bash the hell out of him. Despite his unquestionable talent and impressive resume.

It's funny how Wright has this "He takes too long" rep. The only thing he took a long time with was Ant-Man. And that's because things came up for both he and Marvel. Outside of that (even during all that) he churns out movies every two/three years like everyone else.

You know CBMs are the only movies that matter around these parts. :o

And everyone conveniently ignores the whole producer with cancer thing.

Talk about irony. Looks like those who said the WB should approach Jenkins for Wonder Woman has won the internet today

If Jenkins can reunite with Theron to bring Circe or (preferably) Cheetah to life, I will be in nerd heaven.

Or to the alleged 1920s' setting too.

I'm still wondering if McLaren mistook Wonder Woman for Mary Marvel

Good sign that she left Thor: DW for creative differences. Very good sign.

Exactly.

Honestly I don't see Jenkins as a downgrade and I can't say that about all comicbook movies that lost their directors.

Me neither. I hope she and WB had discussions over the creative direction of the film and that they're on the same page -- before she signed on.

I also look forward to seeing Michelle MacLaren's first feature, be it a different comic-book movie or something else. She's far too talented to just keep directing TV episodes.

I'm really curious as to who the four actors the male lead test offers went out to. No matter what, Wonder Woman is on track, and we'll be seeing her hit the silver screen very soon.

Cannot wait to see Gal completely own this role.

Looking at her resume and it is really short, so it is nice to get a director in place, but I feel no particular way about her.

Interesting turn of events. I'm going to make the rounds and see what the chatter is after people lost what little optimism they had when MacLaren left.

I've only seen Monster from Jenkins, but that's really enough to show that she's more than capable. I do like that she is also a writer.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have a cast announcement by Comic Con especially if they're casting at the moment.

I wonder where they'll be shooting? Leavesden has been the studio for many Warner Bros films but Fantastic Beasts is shooting there from August although WB has expanded the studios do they could shoot it there.

I'm really happy for Patty. I remember sitting in the theater(in one of my various solo viewing) of Monster and just loving it then nothing. Kinda sad that her skills were in a way overshadowed by the actors accolades and such. Then being booted off of thor(or whatever happened).
I'm glad she finally has her opportunity and moment. I just hope she delivers.

I also feel it a good sign that she had enough sense of self to leave something she didn't like. It tells me she must like what's going on with this stuff. Then again, maybe she's just out of work and less arrogant.

Go Patty.

I watched Monster a few years back and thought it was quite good. Maybe I'll check out the pilot of The Killing on Netflix.

I liked the the pilot fro THE KILLING, but it's certainly NOT WW, or what we would expect for a WW film. Of course that doesn't mean anything. With MONSTER and THE KILLING you can see that she works well with her actors and gets the goods on that end. Here's to hoping she can handle a production like WW. I am optimistic of this choice. I am sure she understands the pressures and is going to work her ass off to bring in a quality product.

Was poll updated? I'm both good on Jenkins but still incredibly disappointed in McLaren's departure. I loved the idea that her first feature film was going to be Wonder Woman. :(

Also The Killing looks great, but the story is dragged on for far too long.

There's a huge misunderstanding. They thought they were one the phone with "Patty" but because of bad cell reception they were actually talking to "Leeroy." By the time Leeroy Jenkins shows up to begin filming and everyone realizes the mistake, it will be too late. The WW movie will be about a careful and elaborate plan to liberate Thymiscira that is anticlimactically ruined just before the plan's execution.

For all the mockery that DCCU is "SO GRIMMDARK AND HARDCORE, BRO!!" I wonder if MacLaren - director of GoT and BB episodes - wanted a darker, more violent movie than the studio wanted.

That's not her problem though, she just directed 2 episodes
