here are the helmets. Im impressed!
Awfully great!
(Except the pants and that little metal leg ring.)
Why's the Destroyer stupid for the first film? It's pure muscle with not much else to it. Perfect goon for a better villain--like Loki--to employ.

Hemsworth makes a great Thor...physically at least.
The Destroyer looks great...but i find stupid to be on the first movie.
I can´t even start to understand why the hell is the Infinite Gauntlet in the movie, but it looks great as well.
But.........Thor´s suit is awful![]()
Well, I can't comment on the rest of your post because I literally don't agree with a single word of it, but as far as Thor's costume being mostly black...Isildur´s Heir;18609485 said:That´s the one problem that the Batman movies brought to superhero movies....the leather black fetish.
Why is Thor´s suit 80% black?
And leather?
The suit is one gigantic mess, but the biggest of them all is that it doesn´t "godly", but rather a "superhero" suit.
The chest piece looks like a bullet proof vest, the boots looks like a bad ass biker, and the sleeve part looks like he is wearing another suit underneath it all...which makes the chest piece even more bullet proof vest like.
It has very few redeeming qualities.
As for the destroyer.....
My only problem is that it doesn´t belong in the first movie, but, knowing that every superhero movie made so far fail hard in the most important aspect...the heart and soul of the hero, i guess....meh.....whatever.
Well, that´s not really a good argument due to the fact that Thor as had several suits.![]()
Only part that's more black than the comic version is the pants.![]()

And, IMO, that´s not the best Thor suit.....at all.
The best Thor suit, from the top of my head:

Sure, it needs some tweaks, but even so, imo, is the best
Destroyer...? DESTROYER?!?!?!?!
Prepare to see the most epic Marvel fight scene of all time...
See....that where your wrong, it is not COMPLETELY subjective.See...that's my least favourite suit. Artistic endeavours are funny that way...almost all of it is completely subjective.

OK, preferring this suit to that one, THAT´S subjective; creating the suit it´s not, and that´s what we are talking about here.
Thor is a NORSE god, a VIKING god, those are the 3 key words here, NORSE, VIKING and GOD.

This suit looks Norse and Viking enough

This one looks medieval, look like chain mail of some sort.,
It´s not bad....but, imo, it´s not great either.
Besides, Thor should not wear sleeves, it looks less Norse in my opinion.
But the movie suit...that´s just one big mess.
The helmet is from the suit i say is the best, and the pants and boots are from the ultimate.
I would have LOVED to have seen a LOTR like Thor too! I'm happy both ways tho my heroes gonna ROCK!!!The number of times you've used the word "opinion" proves how subjective it all is.
If you're saying that creating a Norse Viking God's outfit is NOT subjective, I might agree...if you were aiming for some sort of historical, real-world type of representation. But that's not the case. We're talking about a movie about a comic book character based on a Norse god.
The concept designers are obviously taking there cues more from Kirby and the comic pages than history books. And that's how it should be...in MY opinion.
