The Official Pull List Discussion thread

what is that even about.

I don't really know how to explain it without giving everything away. I mean, do you mind spoilers?

Heres a summary of the first issue and a link.

Ethan Daniels can’t seem to get laid. Not that’s he’s a bad looking guy, nor is he socially ******ed. He’s just a typical bachelor who suffers from one, infallible truth: women are complicated. One night, he bumps into a mysterious woman who will change his life… and maybe even the world.

I think Kool-Aid kinda got most of it down.

But i'll go ahead and add this.

The girl is, well, I'm gonna call her an alien because we still don't know for sure what they are. And when I say they, I mean, there are many at this point. You see, a man has sex with these, beautiful naked girls, and they lay eggs which hatch fully grown naked, beautiful girls. They don't seem very intelligent, but they do have an agenda. Mate with the men, kill the women. there's a massive dome over the town they live in so there's no escape. An entire town, besieged by, well, hundreds of beautiful women. And i'm not gonna even mention the thing in the middle of the cornfield.

after reading that it sounds like a sci-fi porno.

Yeah, well, theres no sex in it, at least none that is shown, and though the women are naked, the girly parts are covered. And like I said, we don't really know what they are at this point. If you think Walking Dead is cool though, then you'll love this. Because it's kinda the same. People stuck in a seriously f**ked up situation, and how they cope.

Hey I'm fairly new to the boards and comics but i was looking for some help on my list which looks something like this:

Ghost Rider is decent, though I wouldnt give it high marks. A couple of additions to the DC side would be:

Dtetective Comics, Green Lantern Corps, Action Comics/Superman (check out both see which one you like), Jonah Hex, and Birds of Prey. Worth a checkout and not for everyone: Checkmate.

On the Marvel side, pretty simple:

X-Factor, She-Hulk, Astonishing X-Men, Daredevil, Captain America, Moon Knight. Worth a checkout but not for everyone: Amazing Spider-Man, New Avengers (yes guys, I just recommended New Avengers), Fantastic Four and if youre new to marvel you might wanna cheeck out some of the Ultimate titles.

One of the guys at my shop recommended Girls to me, but I just humored him with no intention of ever buying it. I can't stand the Luna brothers' art.

Havent read it, zero interest.

SIAT's pull list of life and death.

Marvel

Amazing Spider-Man
Sensational Spider-Man
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Ultimate Spider-Man
The Ultimates
Ultimate Fantastic Four
Captain America
Daredevil
The Punisher
Runaways
Marvel Team Up (Will be gone in a few months as it's being cancelled:mad: )
Moon Knight
Squadron Supreme (Is on the chopping block as Gary Frank is leaving the title...:( )
Astonishing X-Men
Powers
Ghost Rider (giving it a few more issues to impress me)
She-Hulk

Marvel Mini's

Civil War
Civil War Frontline
Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine
The Eternals

DC

Batman
Detective Comics
Robin
The Flash (giving this a couple more issues)
All Star Superman
All Star Batman and Robin
Y The Last Man

DC Mini's

Justice
American Way (Wildstorm)
52 (Technically it's a miniseries)

Recently dropped titles

New Avengers (Luke Cage and Cap issues were awesome, but no Spider-Man means no more buying from me)

Nightwing (Will return to the list when Wolfman/Jurgens enter the book)

Ultimate X-Men (Kirkman is ok, but Vaughn's run was too awesome...it's a borefest now)

Spawn (It was getting good, but then it's seriously flopped big time. Loved this title back in the 90's when it was starting and hoping to return to the same glory, but it just wasn't in the cards)

Future titles

The Amazing Spider-Girl (Mayday returns in October with a big reboot)

Punisher War Journal

Action Comics (Richard Donner? Great filmmaker, but I'll be checking it out because of Geoff Johns)

Gen 13

100 Bullets (I'm slowly catching up through the trades)

I had to viciously maim my pull list the other day to cope with a lack of funds. I dropped all of the titles that I was buying but not really enjoying, like Thunderbolts, Marvel Team-Up, Batman, etc.

I really have to get down and do this, my fear is always that once I drop a book its going to get better.:(

Yeah, it's happened to me. I just play devil's advocate and call the people who like it after I've dropped it stupid, though. It's the ASSHAT way.

That's one of the crappiest feelings in the world.

It happened with Green lantern, I actually dropped it then I saw a solicit that said Alan, Ollie, and Roy were going to show up.:(

The sad thing is that I know the story will probably suck because all of Johns' GL stories since Rebirth have sucked to varying degrees. But I know I'll still read it because it's got Alan. They could put Alan Scott in a Supergirl book and, I'm sorry to say, I'd even buy that. Sometimes I make even myself sick. :(

Its ok man, its ok. Im still trying to convince myself to not buy New Avengers #26.

That one's easy for me. I like Hawkeye but I'm not a crazy fan of his. Right now, the only two characters for whom I'd buy a comic I hate are Thor and the Black Knight. New Excalibur's current arc is off to a pretty lame start, though. If it weren't only three issues, I might've just dropped it now to spare myself Tieri's potential butchering of Dane.

Not looking to drop anything, just sharing and looking for opinions and such.

One thing I noticed, but I don't think I saw Thunderbolts on many, or maybe any, other lists. Kinda shocked since it's a really good title.
