The Official Pull List Discussion thread

When you mean pull,do you mean save them so when you get to the store..you can buy them?Instead of just going there, and risk the comic you want to buy..not being in stock?
Yep.

I knew it was time for a pull list when I missed an issue of X-Factor. :cmad:

My comic shop is nerve racking. Even with a pull list, I miss stuff sometimes. They get short shipped a lot. Unfortunately there isn't another shop within a reasonable distance and I've been going there for about 20 years.

A bunch of heroes go on a quest to find Thor's hammer in a post apoc world ruled where the villains won.

Not entirely new I know, but anything mythical interests me.These characters are all created to embody certain eras of comics, some guys are modeled after the golden age type character while others embody the 70s horror characters.

There was an interview a while back on the Rama. The art was top notch as well.

I've been very sold on Superpowers, but I keep forgetting that Sadowski is only doing #0.The interior artist is an unknown, and we still haven't seen any pages.

Hmm. THE END LEAGUE actually looks interesting to me. I may give it a shot. Hopefully my LCS gets it. Sometimes they skimp on the smaller books. Which is unfair; every #1 should get some sort of order, to give everyone a chance. They didn't even give Image's FEARLESS #1 a try. I had to go into Manhattan to get it.

Found the first 7 pages on End League

The writing isn't anything to gush over, then again,it's only the start and the first 7 pages.

Huh. End League you say? Whens the first issue comming out, I'll give it a look, assuming my shop gets a few issues.

Heh, Astonishman.

Good stuff though GNR. You've given me something else to checkout. Ya bastard.

My comic shop gives discounts on comics in a pull list so I'm thinking of getting one. I'm debating on my list though, as I've lately decided to start making some changes to what I read. Here's the list thus far (yes.. it's all Marvel).

Definates
Astonishing X-Men
Uncanny X-Men
X-Men
X-Factor
New X-Men
New Warriors
Avengers Initiative
Thunderbolts
Nova
Annihilation: Conquest

Questioning
New Avengers
Mighty Avengers
Amazing Spider-Man

These are the titles that I buy monthy but am getting more and more tired of. Spidey isnt' as bad, but I'm worried about the outcome of OMD, and besides that, I can't afford to buy it 4 times a month... so it's probably gone no matter what. The Avengers stuff is just getting old for me. I liked it at first but Bendis is really just getting on my nerves lately and I don't like the art on either book. The line ups are only so so now (I liked the full team from New Avengers better than the two teams we have now). I figure I'll keep reading until around the Secret Invasion time period and decide from there whether I'm going to keep it or drop it.

If you're thinking about dropping a series, don't put it on your pull list. Most shops will extend the discount to everything you buy, not just the stuff on the list itself, so browse around and pick up the titles you're not sure about on a month-to-month basis. It makes it easier to decide whether you really want to continue buying or not.

You'd be surprised how much psychological inertia just knowing you'd have to bug your shop guys to scratch it off your list when you might potentially want it again later creates. I'm still reading Catwoman, for example, because it's on my pull list. Really, the material inside was worth dropping months ago; I just haven't brought myself to do it because it's a hassle to take it off the list and it's not really bad, just a little mediocre. You start finding ways to justify keeping **** on your list when you know deep down that you could really do without it.

Or you could just buy them online like I do, and just hit the little trash can icon next to the title and be done with it.

Buying them online isn't as fun. I love getting looks from other people in the comic shop when I grab like $70's worth of comics off the racks.

Hey I'm the same way. I used to go in there and get like 10$ a week, but then I started branching and now I buy just about everything that comes out on a weekly basis. The shop owners are amazed sometimes that I can go in there, spend around 100+ and be back two days later picking up backissues or trades.

I used to be like that. Then I got married and the stack shortened. Then I had kids and the stack shortened even more. Now I can get maybe 4 or 5 comics a week on a good week. Most times I end up getting about 6 comics every 2 weeks or so. It's getting very annoying. I hate being poor
