The Official Pull List Discussion thread

i've been reading each issus as it comes out, then read them all together before i read the final part of the story(since most titles come out in mapped-out "part" storylines).

official pull list:

Fantastic Four
Mighty Avengers
Ultimates 3
Captain America
Kick-Ass
Thor
All-Star Superman
Action Comics
Green Lantern
Justice Society of America
Hulk
All-Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder
Astonishing X-Men

Pretty good list.I'd suggest dropping Ultimates 3 and Mighty Avengers and replacing them with Iron Man Director of SHIELD and Immortal Iron Fist.Just my 2 cents.:yay:

So is anyone going to tell me how Green Arrow/Black Canary and Outsiders are?

Outsiders is good.

Less said about Green Arrow the better.

I just Want to read something with Green Arrow.I miss reading about him is one of my favorite characters.Last issue I read was Green Arrow #75.

The last GA arc I read was 'Road To Jericho'. I'll probably buy 'Year One' when it's out in TPB form.

How so? 99.9% of the time, comics read better when the stories are read in whole during one sitting. And with smaller books like these, there's no guarantee for a trade.
Yeah, I guess there might not be a trade for it. If that's the case, I suppose I can understand it, even if I'd never have the patience to do it myself.

He's in the Outsiders now. That comic's reasonably good, even if I'm still not convinced even Dixon knows how to write Batgirl at this point...

It's apparently called "self-trading." Reading complete stories in one sitting is always worth the wait. :)

Not to me. I guess I'm a purist or something, but if a comic can't be enjoyed in its periodical form, it's not really worth reading. Make it a graphic novel and be done with it.

I never said it can't be enjoyed. I'm saying that it's more enjoyable in one lump some. Are you enjoying waiting for that last issue of Planetary to drop?

Not really, but that's because it's been plagued with delays. The Overman's coming out like clockwork.

Good for it. Lots of books don't. And while I'm a purist in the sense that I greatly prefer single issues over trades and I keep my collection immaculate, for me there's nothing better than sitting in my comfy chair with some beer (of coffee, depending on the time of day) and reading a story straight through. Granted, I save that for mostly indie books as the more mainstream, superhero stuff that I read is read as they come out. I gotta have something to discuss, after all. :)

Eh, there's nothing wrong with that, I just think that if it were intended to be read that way, the story would've just been a graphic novel. I mean, that's the whole point of a graphic novel as opposed to a comic book--it's meant to be read all in one sitting. Plus, like I said, my impatience factors in as well.

Oh, you're so naive.

The only reason (and it is literally the ONLY reason) that comics are still mainly published in their serial form has nothing to do with the writer's intention.

I actually like reading comics month to month and then after a big arc is over, I'll reread the whole thing in one sitting.

If I had time, I'd reread a lot more than I actually do. Rereading is reserved for some really awesome stories, or stories that I haven't read in years.

I haven't reread anything since I bought the Thor #1-3 collection after already having bought and read the individual issues.

Being an insomniac allows me to read comics over and over again. I just wish I had more money to buy all the issues I want. There's a lot I'm missing.
