I vote Ethan Hunt. :o

As much as I love Fassbender's Magneto, my vote goes for Mara's Lisbeth.

I felt her character was more consistent in giving off a badass vibe than Magneto, I think what hurt's Magneto's feeling of badassery is the moments of lightheartedness and slight humor.

I also felt that the vulnerability that Mara brought to the character only emphasized how badass Lisbeth was.

It reminds me of one of the reasons why I loved Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort in Deathly Hallows Part 2. Whereas Mara used Lisbeth's vulnerabilities to show how strong and badass Lisbeth is, Fiennes used Voldemort's vulnerabilities to show how weak of a person Voldemort was.

Were these really the top three noms? :( I voted for Magneto as I've not seen Dragon girl and thought Drive and the Driver was one of the most average hyped up movies/characters I've seen in years.

Well needless to say, I disagree - See bullet's post above - plenty of people saw Vincent as "Tom Cruise as a Bad Guy" (hell, some people probably only know Collateral as "That Movie With Bad Guy!Tom Cruise"). He was just playing a more ruthless, deadly version of his usual charismatic, intense, cocky persona that audiences love.

Besides, I have plenty of preconceived notions about actors who DO regularly disappear into roles. Tom Cruise just isn't one of those guys, imo. He's a good actor, no doubt, but he's a great Movie Star. That's his real talent, imo, and I think it's a rarer one these days than simply great acting.

I don't really fully agree with this as I feel Cruise has disappeared into more than one role, however it's nice to see such a well articulated point.

Drive is a masterpiece badass movie, The Driver is Drive.

The driver was basically a lone samurai who was a getaway driver. Doesn't get more badass than that.

Exactly.

It was like watching a modern day Yojimbo in LA. That's the beauty of it.

Hal Jordan is about as bad ass as a toilet brush. :D

Driver wins. He barely speaks... he lets his actions talk. His actions included stomping some blokes face into mush.

As much as I love Lisbeth, Driver is on a badass status of his own.

What makes that performance so amazing is literally how much Gosling is able to do without speaking. It's unreal.

Can you imagine a block of wood like Channing Tatum in that role? You'd be asleep by the 15 minute mark.

I cant vote as havent seen 2 of the movies involved, but cant believe Atom from Real Steel didnt get more votes, some of the beatings he took and yet still could get up, he was awesome!

While I do agree with you, I do think Cruise has put in some great acting performances throughout his career too. Born of the Fourth of July, Magnolia, Interview with the Vampire, Last Samurai, Jerry McGuire, Rain Man.

I think the guy is great, like you say, he knows how to have fun and take the piss out of himself too. I loved his cameo in Austin Powers and he was the funniest thing in Tropic Thunder.

Tom Cruise is awesome, I know he had a bit of a mad time a few years ago but doesnt at some point in theit lives? The guy knows how to make good to great movies for the most part and is actually a better actor than people give him credit for. Minority Report was another one were he was superb. And you gotta admire the guys balls as well, some of the stunts he does himself are insane.

Magneto All The Way

"My Parent's Didn't Have a Name They were taken away by Farmers and Tailors"

That Bar Scene was just brilliant!

Driver is not only the most bad ass of the year, he is the best new movie character of the year. I hope he gets a trilogy with Refn the same way The Man with No Name got a trilogy with Leone.

Well the Drive novel is getting a sequel.........

All 3 nominated performances were great but I agree with most of you here, Driver takes it with Lisbeth on second place. I'm glad Magneto made the cut too.
