The official silent war thread

Seriously, for the last time, the mini takes place before or the beginning stages of Civil War.

who's Jolel? I only know a few inhumans of the main team
Black Bolt
Gorgon
Triton
Medusa
Crystal
Karnak
and thats all I know

Yeah him,
When did he come around? I've never heard of him before?

The Inhumans mini by Jenkins and Lee back in 1998, issue #2. He's one of the kids I think.

Anyone who likes Inhumans should get that mini (it's in TPB format). A bunch of kids were introduced in it, we also get a better perspective on how Terrigenesis occurs and how Inhuman society works according to the powers of each individual. It also highlights what a tactical genius Black Bolt is.

There were a couple of minis after and I'm told that one of them was really about the group of kids introduced in the first mini.

I mean, there's a reason why I ***** about everything, so when I say something its good, people will be like "What Darth likes it, I must check this out" or at leats thats how it works in my delusions.

this has potential to being the best book of the year and I have high hopes bc I thought Son of M was the best book of 2006

The New Antman is awesome....It could only be better if it were Max, which it really should be......

Well i'm really looking foward to this. I was looking ahead a while back on the marvel website and they had this up on the coming soon. I hope this book is good becuase the books I've been picking up haven't been doing that well.

I think it said somewhere that it happens BEFORE they split up.
which makes no sense. So this is supposed to take place before Civil War? That cant be bc in Sentry's New Avengers CW issue, the Inhumans have not started their war on the US

Silent war is something I am all over, and I hope it does spawn an ongoing for them
Son of M should have spawned into a Quicksilver solo. Hines is doing some amazing writing with these characters and should have been given an ongoing after SoM. Hoepfully he gets one here

What a ****ing awesome issue.

It was. I loved how the FF completely owned Gorgon's team. :word:

The only complaint i have is the "shady U.S. government guy" thing Marvel keeps using is starting to get old.

Other than that, solid debut.

I dont know if you read a lot of DC, but the guy seemed just like Father Time from Uncle Sam and The Freedom Fighters.

I'm actually surprised how easily they got taken down, but its the FF, if anyone can take them down it was them.

yes that DOES tend to get old

Wow, this first issue was great! A very tense start for the mini, much more than I expected. I thought it was gonna go better for the Inhumans but apparently their initial salvo has gone wrong. I know Joulen has no love for humans, but he appeared to be a bit more bloodthirsty than I expected him to. Add to that the weird scene with BB and Medusa in the conference room and I'm starting to hope that maybe Maximus is influencing them somehow.:( The way Gorgon looked at the end.....:wow: The $h!t has definitely hit the fan!

I've seen a lot of complaints about the art and I liked it for the most part. BB looks skinnier than I would expect him to be, but that's a minor quibble. I loved how the Human Torch looked, though. All in all, an awesome issue that definitely makes me yearn for more.

I dont know if you ever read the McKeever Inhumans stuff, but Jolen's attitude didn't come as a surprise to me. He was shown as very militant in that mini.

No, I only read the Jenkins/Lee one. I saw today at Amazon that there's a digest for the "Culture Shock" one, I'll ask at the store I frequent if they've ever gotten it.

I thought that, despite Joulen's dislike of humans, he at least obeyed orders. Sure, in the broadest interpretation of Gorgon's orders you could say that he still acted as he was commanded; but to me he was out of line and not just "pushing it". It's open to interpretation if BB only gave Gorgon the instructions to "fight with words" and if it was up to him or not to pass it on. If they all knew, then it's clear that Joulen overstepped the boundaries. Anyway, you know more about the character so...
