Listen *****e bag, first off I can 'b1tch and or moan' about anything I want, so by you telling me not to, I'm not miraculously going to stop.
Look at this kid catching feelings... chill out, son. No one came at you calling you a b1tch... even though by all indications, it would probably be an accurate judge of your character.
I have been a Superman fan since I can remember.
And so have alot of people...
Same goes for action figures.
So have alot of people.
The very first action figure I got was probably Superman by Kenner all those years ago.
Yeah, and?
I have seen what companies are capable of-NECA, McFarlane, even Mattel with some of the Harry Potter stuff.
The Mattel Harry Potter stuff is by no means superior than Batman Begins or Superman Returns products. The other comapnies you mention, I.E. NECA, McFarlane make high end items, not generally found in major outlets. McFarlane doesn't even make figures though, they make statues. Not to mention, Mattel may substitute quality for durability. Once again, these products are aimed at young children (not like NECA and McFarland products) so they have to be durable eough for a kid to play with and beat up. NECA and McFarland are collector's items, not toys, and usually are found in stores and outlets not easily accessible for children. Get your facts straight, sparky.
What would you say if the directing job of Superman went to I don't know...let's say Uwe Bowl, or whatever the hell his name is. Don't tell me that you or any other Superman movie fan wouldn't be the least upset AND more importantly 'b!tch and moan' about it.
Uhh...Apples meet Oranges, why don't we compare you two, heh?
We're not talking about the movie and the quality of it. We are talking about toys aimed at kids, and the associated products that are associated with the movie. When has a movie ever had SUPER detailed anything, for the general release prices for movie products? If you want high end stuff, you have to pay for it. If you're looking to walk into a Wal-Mart, and a parent is with their kid...they have to have a Superman on the shelf at ALL times, and be able to pay for it at a relatively low price. So they make a product they can mass produce, which satisfies all their marketing goals. Once you understand marketing concepts, you may understand that Mattel is a business that is here to make money...and not satisfy Adult collectors. So don't compare unlike things, in comparing a NECA or McFarland high end statue or collectible, to a general release product from a major company like Mattel. You said you had the Super Powers Superman figure as a kid...did you enjoy and play with that figure? These same products out now are meant to reach a young generation. They aren't met to be things that are just looked at for their beauty by collectors. They are meant to be played with by children. Dumb Ass...
This is the first time in a long time Superman has graced the silver screen, and it looks like it was done with a team of professionals who want the movie to be all it can be.
Yes, and we have gotten a bunch of great movies before with the same mass produced merchandise before. It doesn't take away the quality of the actual movie. Hell, people still buy massive amounts of those products anyway.
The merchandise that comes off this movie should have the same amount of dedication, care and hard work put into it.
Really? Superman Returns is a piece of art, merchandise is not. Superman Returns cost $200 million to make, to be as good of quality as it could be. Merchandise is their to tap into the feelings of the consumer for said piece of art, aka Superman Returns.
Instead the fans were treated to 1, MAYBE 2 'decent' Superman figures out of what? 500?!?
Jesus Christ, either you are ******ed, or you have Juggernaut's helmet on...cause the concept simply isn't getting through your thick ass skull. 1 or 2 figures is ALL, if any, that should be dedicated to 'collectors' through a mass market toy campaign. You got Hyperposeable Superman and 30 inch Superman. The rest is aimed at the main consumer of toys, I.E. children.
Just because the toys off the movie aren't as important to you doesn't mean other people share your same stance.
The toys are important to me. Part of still collecting toys means you have to retain that child like vibrance for them. I can find joy in the Clark to Supes figure today, just like I would when I was 6 or 7. It's about the imagination. I'm not putting you down for being critical (that is fine)..but you exceed that. It goes to the point where you just keep repeating yourself, and you ***** and moan like a little school girl. Get over it. Get the Hyperposeable...or the Medicom figure etc. And stop raining on everyone elses parade.
On a sidenote..no one from Mattel is listening to you, and the BEGINS products actually did sell pretty well.
