The Official Tekken Movie Thread

What the hell is going on with his movie?

Depending on if they get a distributor, it may get a theatrical release in the U.S. but in the UK it seems like it's going Straight to DVD http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/12263994/Tekken/Product.html#

Sigh... I blame Dragonball Evolution, Street Fighter, and DOA for this. This is like the first adaptation that looks faithful and at least got the lead's ethnicity right. :whatever:

Wasn't there a lot of positivity regarding the Tekken trailer? How come a movie that might have a chance at being a decent surprise might end up as a DVD release, yet **** like Legend of Chun-Li and Dragonball Evolution makes it into theaters? That King of Fighters Movie better not make it into theaters over Tekken.

For anyone that hasn't seen the KoF trailer yet. This movie looks like it might be worse than Chun-Li and even Evolution.

well the answer to those is simple. Fox made them so therefore they distributed their own production. I think Lionsgate should distribute Tekken, they are a great Company and let's the Production team be their creative selves. Unlike Fox.

I saw that trailer on another board. How dare you soil this good thread with it :csad:.

KoF should just air on Syfy...it looks like a Syfy Channel movie with more budget (but still cheap).

They could have released this ******** this weekend. Nothing is out new except for Armored.

Yes, because we all know that Brothers and Everybody's Fine ain't in theaters this weekend. Oh, and in more theaters, too. And somewhere is Transylmania.

Nobody is going to see those. They're just dramas. :o

And I don't know about Transylmania.

Cover art looks pretty cool.

So there definitely is no King? That sucks.

Damn that cover looks badass. And look, Yoshimitsu is on it too.

Poster isn't too bad. I like how they got Yoshimitsu on their at the top.

Since this is going DTV, I might just buy it before watching it. From what I've heard and seen, it might be actually pretty decent. Especially for a movie based on a fighting game when you think about past ones.

I Like the coverart, at least it looks like what it supposed to look like this time.

You guys beat to posting the cover haha. I love how Yoshimitsu looks! They took my two favourite versions of him and combined them!

First Look At Japanese Poster For Tekken Movie

Back in early November, Kotaku posted the first Tekken movie sales art. It's now late December, and time to post the movie's Japanese poster. Funny how that works. No, not really.

The movie is set in 2039, when fighters from around the world compete in the Iron Fist Tournament and centers around character Jin Kazama, who enters the tourney to avenge his mother's death — something he places the blame on Tekken Chairman Heihachi Mishima. Jin hopes by winning the tournament he can get close enough to Mishima to kill him.

And no, the actress who plays Kill Bill's Gogo Yubari is not in this movie.

^That looks awesome, I like the way they arent putting the biggest stars front and centre, but rather the most popular characters.

I may well pre-order this on BD if it is coming out on that format.
