The Official Tekken Movie Thread

When in the hell is this thing coming out?

Even though Jon Foo's accent is British, he did sound impressive with the American accent. :word:

That was all I could find at the moment, despite the negative outlook alot of people have towards the film, I actually think it looks pretty good

Whoa, nice find! Doesnt look bad at all, and the Jin vs Law fight was actually pretty good.

No problem guys, If I happen to find anything else, I'll be sure to post it. It kind of sucks that it is unclear as to when this will be coming out stateside. Hell, I'm stationed in Qatar at the moment and I dont see it in any theaters here at all

Citizens of Tekken?
The Mishima Zaibatsu ends up waging war against G-Force and they do set up their own nation. It does seem likely that the city which the tournament is held could be titled "Tekken". It's as if they slightly shifted the timeline so that Kazuya and Heihachi never betrayed one another and the corporate World War is over with Mishima as the winner with Jin only just joining the tournament. It's an interesting idea. I still think the movie could do well. The trailer just look like ****.

yeah, the name of the city in the film is Anvil. And to add to what Asteroid stated, there doesn't seem to be any grudge between Kazuya and Heihachi, for all we know in this timeline Kazuya was never thrown off a cliff as a child or resurrected by G Corporation. Also, I believe they are overlooking the whole "Ogre killed Jun" thing as well

I don't mind if they ignore that whole Ogre thing, but I would've liked the grudge between Kazuya and Heihachi to stay intact.

yeah me too, that seemed like that should have been a key element. But who know's maybe Kazuya may betray Heihachi and recieve his signature scar or something

Ok, just found out that they have an actual dvd release date for Japan, August 11, 2010.

Those 10 minutes didn't really impress me. Another forgettable video game adaptation.

Say what you want, but I'm gonna hold some faith out for this film.

I'm downloading this movie now as we speak. If it's good, I'll place an order for the Bluray.

This is already out in cinemas where I am... But I'm waiting for the Blu-ray which I think should come quite soon.

Give us some details when you're done watching it. I want to know if the acting or dialogue is horrible or passable.

More importantly (to ME at least). is the fight scenes. its a fighting game after all

Same here for the most part. I'm mainly seeing it for the fights too and the fact that it looks like it's trying to do the games justice, well...sort of.

It would just be nice to know if the dialogue is tolerable.

The action was amazing, especially Jon Foo and Lateef Crowder.

The acting was hit and miss. Luke Goss, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Ian Anthony Dale were incredible, but the background characters which were given dialogue were terrible and really pulled you out of the film. The other fighters barely have any lines, but Jon Foo and Kelly Overton were alright.

The dialogue was good a side from two lines: "This is Iron Fist" and the other one would be a spoiler to give away.

The film drew from Tekken 1 and 2 in terms of [BLACKOUT]the shift in power from Heihachi to Kazuya[/BLACKOUT], Tekken 3 in terms of [BLACKOUT]Jun training Jin, dying and then gaining guidance from Heihachi[/BLACKOUT], Tekken 5 in terms of some dialogue and [BLACKOUT]Jin getting control of the company in the end[/BLACKOUT], and Tekken 6 in terms of [BLACKOUT]corporation wars[/BLACKOUT]. By taking elements from all across the Tekken game timeline, the setting changes to a mix of it all.

This film does a great job in adapting six games to one 1.5hr movie.

Very enjoyable and worth seeing. ...oh and there's a sex scene.
