The official "The Losers" movie thread.

Wow, I ****ing dug that trailer! Reminded me of the A-Team. But I'll be seeing these two.

Chris Evans looks like he is forming a great and funny character.

For comparisons sake, this was a much better trailer than The A-Team for me. I can dig it.

All of you talking about the trailer, did you see it at the cinema?

I've never read the books but this looks like tremendous over the top fun, the trailer kinda reminds me of a grimy grindhouse style comic, is this R rated?

Damn, Zoe looks fine. Anyone else seeing her get Hottie of the years status again?

Not all that familiar with the comic, but I like the cast, and I thought this trailer is awesome. When is this coming out?

Damn this looks like fun.

yea what is the official rating for the film is it pg 13 or R?

thanks i just didnt see it posted along with the trailer. but i am sure they went pg 13 so they can hit the teen market hard.

Looks awesome. Can't wait.

Is it just me or did this have a 'Smokin' Aces' vibe to it?

It did, many have made that comparison

I have a question: Why are they called the Losers? Do they just suck at what they do or what? C'mon, what's with the name? I only ask because probably the biggest turn-off in the film was when JDM's character actually called his team The Losers. Yeah, as if anyone would really ever do that. Must have loads of self-confidence problems. Please, someone who's actually read this stuff, please explain. And I know about it originally being a WWII comic. Did they name themselves that way in that comic as well?

Just speaking from a total non-fan of this comic book series standpoint, I'd have prefered them NOT to refer to themselves that way but as 'generic team XYZ' or whatever and then have the FILM show you WHY they are 'The Losers'.

THEN have these losers get some payback which is satisfying for the audience.

You should definitely read the comics there a lot grittier than the movie looks.

yea what is the reason in the comics they are called the losers, i was thinking of that myself and more when above poster mentioned it.

I should read the comics. But I always thought it's because they're not part of any special organizations, so they're outcasts, losers, as percieved by the CIA or FBI.

But I swear, Evans look like he'll steal the movie.

I've just started reading this comic book but I can't understand what does all their nicknames mean? Why Cougar? Why Roque? Why Pooch? Jensen is obvious, but others not (for me).

By the way, trailer is great!

probably does'nt help but here is there character descriptions

  • Colonel Franklin Clay - The Leader, easily identified by a consistent use of black suits without ties. A meticulous planner, initiative-taker and an excellent leader, Clay harbors the largest grudge against Max, at times appearing visibly angry at the mention of his name.
  • Roque - The second-in-command, easily identified by the large, vertical scar down the right side of his face and icy demeanor. His ruthless thirst for money motivates a majority of his actions, including the serial betrayal of the Losers and many of his underlings.
  • Jensen - The hacker, characterized by his spiky blonde hair, glasses and a conspicuous beard on his chin. Known for his nonstop motormouth that often leads him into trouble and a variety of conversational tangents.
  • Cougar - The sniper, identified by his cowboy hat and haunted demeanor. Morose and laconic as a result of a traumatic combat incident in Afghanistan. An absolute genius with the rifle.
  • Sgt. Linwood 'Pooch' Porteous - The pilot, identifiable by his shaved head and laid-back appearance, has been known to pilot any ground, air or sea vehicle with ease. Despite his involvement with the CIA and Special Forces, is also married with children.
  • Aisha - The loose cannon, identified by her eyebrow piercing and tied-back hair. Partners with the Losers in light of their common goal of killing Max. Skilled in all combat skills, with particular emphasis on melee and reconnaissance, stemming from a harsh upbringing in Afghanistan and Pakistan, primarily fighting as a child against Soviet soldiers during the Soviet war in Afghanistan. A cold-blooded killer who prefers to leave corpses rather than survivors when she engages the enemy.

Cool trailer, great poster and Joe Saldana!

How can it go wrong?

SOLD!

I haven't read the books, but in everything I see about the books, there seems to be only 5 members, but the film seems to have 6. Was this character even in the books?
