Any thoughts on Darwyn's first book??

The new take on Ebony was nice. Not too PC. Very effective. Ms. Coffee's response to his name was classic.

So...who is "Pill" guy and what does he do??

This book was entertaining through and through. Is there any specific Eisner collections I should look into???

I love Darwyn Cook's style, it is retro 50sish. Really cool. I think it fits well with the Spirit. I can't wait. It must be cool to be the artist chosen to draw the Spirit, I think the only other person to draw the Spirit was Esiner himself.
I'm collecting this for sure.

Cooke is the only one I can see getting that classic 50's feel while still being fresh. Since we no longer have Eisner with us, I'm glad Darwyn Cooke's on the book. Great first issue, I can't wait to see him doing some detective work.

No, back in the days Eisner had a lot of good artists as assistants, like Jerry Grandenetti, Jack Cole and Wally Wood.
And some years ago there was a good series by Kitchen Sink where modern writer and artists did short stories of the Spirit.
People like Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons, Paul Chadwick, Paul Pope, Rick Veitch, Neil Gaiman, Eddie Campbell, Mark Schultz...

Read the Batman/Spirit book. Read the first issue.

I'm in love.

Does the Spirit have enhanced strength?? He knocked that metal door off that sewer pipe.

No I think that central city just has bad pipes. Or maybe he hit it in just the right spot.

Great opening issue, kudos to Cooke for bringing in Ebony.

There are the Archives that reprint all of The Spirit stories, but if you want a sample of some of the best ones, there's "The best of The Spirit" book.

I recently picked up some of The Spirit Archives. Really good stuff. I'd recommend to anyone to pick up some if not all of The Spirit Archives.

Ebony's intro rocked so hard.

What is P'gell's background?? I'm not that familiar with The Spirit's lore.
