On Wednesday, Torontonians will be treated to a whopping 30cms of snow..

Yay.

By the way, please support openmedia.ca by putting up a link/banner on your site to fight the CRTC from taking us back to an internet stone-age...

That's IF the weather predictions are right. For Toronto they are usually wrong. The storm may look like it's heading for us but our protective barrier of smog usually makes storms go North or South just when they are supposed to reach us. Which is why Buffalo or Aurora usually get whalopped while we only get a light dusting. That said, I know a few people who really, REALLY want a SNOW DAY!!!

So, not only did Toronto make the top 5 "most livable" cities according to The Economist Intelligence Unit, but it also made the "entertainment" news in a couple of other ways.

The Eye weekly has decided that Toronto's new nickname should be "El Toro". Frankly, I prefer "The T Dot" or "Tee Oh" or even "Tee Dot Oh".

Oh, and we're also, apparently, the "Raccoon Capital of the World" according to the Nature Things.

Does anyone know any really crappy cities in the Toronto area or Canada?

8 Weeks until i step foot in Toronto for the first time :)

I don't know if Peterborough qualifies as a city or not. However, the first time I went there I found it very depressing... then again it may have been the people I was with and the particular neighbourhood.

So, tomorrow night, my sisters and I will be going Karaoke singing at Jessie's Cafe on Kingston Road. It's a tiny, little, hole in the wall club.

Apparently, there may even be a Gnome with us... but no guarantees.

A hypester needs to go there and record you drunkenly singing

ahhh, but if one of them were to dare then the Hypesters would see how truly amazing I am and all other loves would suffer in comparison. :fhm:

What are you two talking about, eh?

*spray paints N.W.O on thread*

I wasn't aware that so many people from Toronto posted here....

NOOOOO! Not Silver Snail :( Loved that place, especially the costumes on Free Comicbook Day.

Yeah, it sucks, but at lease its not closing for good.

I'm in the GTA - I'm actually about to leave for the Summer but I'll be back again soon. We should all meet up for something after next September. It'll be legend - wait for it...

Canada's Got Talent audition tour
Contestants who already passed the first round of auditions will strut their stuff for a crowd at the Metro Hall Convention Centre on Dec. 3, 4, and 5.

The shortlisted performers — singers, dancers, jugglers, cyclists, fire breathers, illusionists, acrobats, ventriloquists and musicians — will perform live in the hope of making it on the show.

--------------------------
I will NOT be performing here because my talents are not meant to be displayed for those folks under 18.
-------------------------
However, it IS the weekend before my birthday so I will be going Karaoke singing with my sister at Jesse's Cafe tomorrow night. Tonight my family and I are going to the "Old Tyme" Candle lighting and caroling festival in Unionville (just North of Toronto).

Carolling on the TTC Sunday, Dec 18th, 2011
Yes folks, it's that time of year again. My sisters and I will get together with a group of friends and carol our way from Kennedy station to downtown (Queen St. station). 3pm at Kennedy station is our starting point. We'll work our way down to the Christmas window displays and then hit a restaurant for dinner before heading home.
