There are posts in this thread that are legitimately thought-provoking and interesting. It just so happens that that post was not one of them. Not by a long-shot. It was scientifically-illiterate drivel with a disregard for any and all semblance of rational thought.

I mean, par for the course for an Alex_Spider post, really. But still. Jesus...

Actually in my heart I am more interested in social and scientific issues, things which our lives are dependent on and that's what I am posting 90% of the time.
UFO like and similar articles are just a time of break in the day and fun time, but as always you draw early conclusions about me.

I take it you didn't bother reading the article then? That's not to say the things you mentioned are horrible but the article pretty much states that people tend to give credence where there really should be none given simply because the thought of the conspiracy intrigues them. Thinks like the vaccine conspiracy idiots are literally killing people. It also has links to a study that show people who believe in conspiracy theories tend to be more pessimistic and less willing to try and help change the world since the feel the game is rigged against them anyway. Seriously give it a read, it may surprise you. And if your not familiar with Cracked check them out, they do some of the best articles on the net and all are thoroughly researched. There are many different writers as well covering a wide variety of topics.

No, I didn't read it, but I will do so in a while.
It's just that you and Dr. acted as if I this is the only place I am posting in the hype.
Just because I post occasionaly "conspiracy" stuff, that doesn't mean I am a full conspiracy theory maniac. I am just having fun.
You know very well I am active in other threads also especially the scientific one cause in the end social issues and science related stuff is more important than silly "weird" news, ufo discussions etc. which only distract the masses from the major issues we are facing right now.
Just wanted to clarify that. Thanks for the links though. They seem interesting.

Just because they use comedy and satire to prove the point doesn't make the point any less valuable and/or correct. I'd venture to say their articles are more well researched and linked to the source than the majority of "news" sites and blogs out there. That's why many other sites like Buzzfeed steal from them on a regular basis

Yes, but you don't know if their points are sincere, since their goal is to create comedy. Just because you may agree with a certain idea, doesn't mean the author was trying to create an honest point of view. Sometimes they can, sure. But often times, it's just manufactured ideas, in order to create humor.

Not sure if you have visited lately but most of the articles these days have a clear point listed in the title and the ones that are meant to be just stupid and funny clearly are. Any of the ones trying to make a point do so using comedy but still make the point clearly and concisely as well as provide links to back up all of their refrences

Same here. I use to post here because there are somethings that can't or haven't been explained and I'd love to have a serious debate but some people just come in with corny jokes and kind of took it over. I read some of the articles that people post here but rarely post.

Ancient Aliens? Archaeologists Say 10,000-Year-Old Cave Paintings Depict UFOs

Archaeologists in India have discovered 10,000-year-old rock paintings that appear to depict extraterrestrial visitors and UFOs that once landed on earth. We’re not saying it was aliens, but it was definitely aliens.

The Times of India carried the story this week from Charama in the state of Chhattisgarh, where archaeologist JR Bhagat pointed out that ancient cave paintings appear to show representations of extraterrestrial visitors.

“The findings suggest that humans in prehistoric times may have seen or imagined beings from other planets which still create curiosity among people and researchers,” Bhagat told the Times. “Extensive research is needed for further findings. Chhattisgarh presently doesn’t have any such expert who could give clarity on the subject.”
There is a certain eeriness to the Chhattisgarh cave paintings, as the faded, large-headed figures they show have something of a non-human air to them. Some of the cave paintings even depict these “visitors” wearing what look like spacesuits and holding weapon-like objects.

The Chhattisgarh paintings could well be the imaginings of some prehistoric doodler, but one must admit a certain spooky resemblance to current popular imaginings of extraterrestrial visitors. One even shows what appears to be a craft of some sort, with “fan-like antennae and three legs of [a] vehicle’s stand.”

According to the Times, a small number of locals in the Chhattisgarh region “worship” the paintings. Others, though, pass on ancestral stories of “rohela people” – the small-sized ones. According to legend, these rohela people would descend from the sky in a flying object, taking away one or two people from a village when they came. Those taken were never heard from again.

Spooky, yes, and definitely a different tale from what we get from most cave paintings. The oldest ones discovered so far are charcoal renderings from Spain’s Nerja cave, dating back about 43,000 years.

No aliens in those paintings, though, so we’ll stick with the Chhattisgarh renderings for now. Because aliens, duh.

Exactly...they argue about some "conspiracy theory" entertainers having a conflict of interest (Alex Jones, Glenn Beck) but they want you to hope we're oblivious to Cracked's own.

Yeah, I agree we should be more concerned about the "conspiracies" that have social and environmental ramifications to millions of lives. In fact, I mentioned the importance of the "social stuff" as opposed to the alien in the previous page. Maybe it would be better if the thread was split in two.
