I've noticed that within Christian circles (within the last couple decades) there has been a disturbing increase in obsessive thoughts on conspiracy theories. I see on my facebook people post "shocking articles" that turn out to be completely bogus and just reading them briefly you can TELL they are bogus...unless you are obsessed with this kind of stuff and believe it all.

Read an article that cleared it up for me...and this applies to any community really. If you believe the larger conspiracies (Illuminati, etc...) then you are more likely easier to trick into believing the smaller ones.

I find the whole thing a little disturbing...

From what I can see...in order to buy into a lot of conspiracies it requires you to view the government as a singular entity rather than individuals part of a greater whole.

We see it time and again...when a politician is found doing something illegal it's "The government" when in reality it was this one person and maybe one or two others involved...but since they are in the government we lump the whole thing together. This makes it easier for us to believe more and more far fetched ideas.

The true reality is that there are bad people working in government and good people who honestly believe they are servants of the people and want what is best for those people. The fact is the government is made up of people with many different ideas and some of those ideas don't help the American people but instead further that individuals own agenda.

I think we need to get away from the mindset of "The GOVERNMENT did this or that" and instead get into the correct mindset of "So and so did this without approval" Or "So and so broke the law and i'm glad HE will be placed by SOMEONE else."

Maybe i'm wrong. But that's how I see it.

Easiest thing to do would be give advanced technology at a steady rate to opposing sides. Eventually it'll be too complex for them to manage and they'll destroy themselves or each other by using that technology as weapons.

Now a more likely conspiracy is that Big Pharma is using media holdings to stir up panic over Ebola in order to make a vaccine profitable by selling it to the Western world (despite there being no recorded outbreak of Ebola in the Americas or Europe). This one actually makes sense, considering that a vaccine has been successfully tested on primates but researchers acknowledge that there is no market for it, so the testing basically ends there rather than enduring the costs of navigating the red tape to get it on the market.

Anyone think it's odd that a year ago we were almost dragged into a war with Syria because we thought they were killing their own people. There was a big outcry against it so that talked was quickly calmed down. Now a year later, ISIS is created and we are going to war with Syria. I don't know about anyone else and I'm not the biggest conspiracy guy out there but man this situation just shows you just how much sheeple are and if "the man" really wants to go after something, all he has to do is repeat it and it has to be true.
